Re: Delica 4 S30V scales color

I love the K390. I believe it takes a better edge than S30V, but I think VG10 does as well. The K390 will definitely hold an edge better than VG10. It supposedly rusts, but mine looks the same as when it was new. I have cut apples with it, among other things, but I always clean it and keep mineral ...

Re: "The knife guy"

I am that guy at work.

My Grandpa would whip us if he caught us without a knife in our pocket. My cousins and I knew that because he told us. Grandpa passed away in 1984, but I always have my knife and think of him when I use it. I feel naked without it. Everybody knows I have a knife with me, or ...

Re: What knife do you carry clipless?

Hi GTenn, Tonnor, Spymanic,

Welcome to our forum. Interesting question and it seems to have spurred an interesting group of points of view.

I almost always carry a small knife that I can use in public. It's usually a Manbug, occasionally a D'fly or some proto or a model that I haven't carried ...

Re: What knife do you carry clipless?

I appreciate all the responses. I thought I would hear at least one large knife clipless. By that, I mean larger than the Delica. The Roadie was my choice today, but it doesn’t have a clip anyway.

Re: dragonfly bottom of pocket carry

I tried it this morning after reading your thread. I definitely like the feel better without the clip. I did leave the screws in place. They do add a bit of an anchor point when opening one handed.

What knife do you carry clipless?

I dislike pocket clips. I wasn’t always of that mindset, but things change. The clips mangle pockets, catch on things, scratch things, etc. I also found most clips create hot spots for me when gripping the knife. However, I have been known to clip my PM2 inside my left boot.

I’m curious what ...

Re: I lost my Chaparral!

I’m sorry for your loss. Any knife I carry has some sentimental value to me because I get attached to them. I’ve only lost one in my lifetime, but I still think about that knife after 15 years. I’m sorry you are going through this.

I’d rather see Spyderco move the budget line out of China entirely. There are other places to make knives if they can’t be repatriated due to cost. My Casio was made in Thailand for example. The world needs to BDS China.

Re: Why did you join?

I joined as way to read ”news” about Spyderco knives.
I grew up knowing my Grandpa would whip me if he found me without a knife in my pocket. I was drawn to Spyderco because of the support for first responders, law enforcement, and the military.
I spend a lot of time lurking, but will gladly join ...
