Re: Favorite Lock?

.... and for a clumsy guy like me, keeping fingers out of the blade path is never a bad thing. Did you ever try this with a backlock? It is certainly a bit harder to do than with comp.lock or CBBL, but weirdly I personally almost never use the "fingers out of the blade path" method with t...

Re: Favorite Lock?

Ergonomics are far more important than lock type for me, but my favs are the comp lock and CBBL. Both will allow for an amazing action, and for a clumsy guy like me, keeping fingers out of the blade path is never a bad thing.

Re: Recommend Some Aftermarket Micarta

RC Bladeworks and RGT. Good prices, fit, and quality. Agree on RGT not being too grippy, but wouldn't call them slick. Mine are the canvas micarta, not sure if others have more texture. The denim micarta is a bit more textured for sure.

I'm down for ANY new Lil Native variants. Along with Dragonfly and Chaparral, my favorite "5th pocket" Spydercos.

Re: Low End Spyderco Knives

The Tenacious was my gateway Spyderco, the one that started the love affair. I own more Golden models than any other, but that has more to do with the designs than geography. So I tend to have a Colorado made product in my pocket most days, but a few WE/Civivi knifes get some pocket time as well. Hi...

Re: Manix 2 Question

I have a LW and a G10. Not sure if the springs actually get softer with time, but your hand strength and technique get better with time and makes it feel softer. Also agree with others, Eric selected that particular spring tension for best function. But if you can't get used to it, try the lighter s...

Re: What “New to You” models are you looking at for 2022?

The Shaman is really the only model left that I want and don't have. Now with a price of over $230 for base model, I'll be keeping an eye out on the secondary market.

Re: How do you show your Spyderpride?

Don't have any yet, but I would definitely rock a Spyderco t-shirt, hat, or hoodie. Join the MNOSD, you can get any of these right away! OK, it's not technically Spyderco, but it's a Spyderco-fanatical (and slightly silly but fun-loving Spyderco-using and sock-drawer-storing) group! If you're new t...

Interesting. I guess I'm curious about the glue's strength on an EDC. Anyone used this on a Lil Native?

Re: S30V - how well does your Spyderco battle corrosion

Texas gulf coast here, home of stifling heat and humidity. I probably have more knives in S30V than all other steels combined, zero issues with rust. All mine are satin, no dlc.

Re: Lanyard Hole In Spyderco Models: Important Or Not?

A lanyard hole doesn't bother me, but I have no need for lanyards. Wouldn't affect my decision on whether or not to purchase a particular knife.

Re: Spyderco's Much Overlooked Models

I wouldn't say it's overlooked, but I am a bit surprised that the Sage 5 isn't talked about more. Especially the lightweight variant. I find it superior in every way to the immensely popular Para3 LW. I’m highly tempted to get a sage 5 lw and turn around my para 3. I’m also tempted to sell my stret...
