From my experience AEB-L only shine at very high HRC like 63+ with really thin geometry.
Aeb-l's sweet spot is 61rc. Ive made over 40 knives out of this steel, some skinners that are out performing s30v knives. Edge geometry has a lot to do with it, and you wouldn't sharpen an s30v steel like ...

Maybe one of the razor blade steels like AEB-L. Basic, high hardness carbon steels will be high on the list, as will cruwear, m4, 4v, etc.
I'm drawing a blank on which ones have a finer grain structure right now.

Yeah, I was thinking hard about the AEB-L Urban, but if the readings in the HRC Database thread are right (with the hardness at 58-59), the steel isn’t really hard enough to reap the benefits of AEB-L ...
