Maybe I'm biased to just what I own but the best looking is the Bow River with the curly maple Chaparral a close 2nd.

You can also work with a cheap kitchen knife to learn and experiment rather than the nice new Chaparral. The harder steel will work a bit slower but I find that comforting. I'm not removing too much of my expensive steel.
And as a bonus: you'll end up with nice sharp kitchen knives.

Very pleased with both. Native might have an uneven sharpening grind and is a bit stiff. May break in and/or improve with cleaning. The Para 3 has a bumpy grind on the spine. Almost looks faceted as the light plays across it. Enjoying my first new Spyderco's since 1990.
