Re: Thee Most Practical Spyder Of All Time? Your Choice?

I feel like I would vote Native 5 for general EDC and Manix 2 for work. I am in no way biased just because these are my two favorite models... ha!

Re: Who Wants a High Carbon Native?

I’d be in on any option, but 52100 would be my choice.

Re: G10 SPY27 Native?

Just to tack on, understanding there is a very demanding workload for Spyderco, but a Spy27 lil native I couldn’t buy fast enough! I’m content patiently waiting.

Re: G10 SPY27 Native?

The Spy27 LW model was my first native LW. I’d buy another Native LW for sure, and I’d certainly buy a G-10 Native in Spy27.

Re: Native Chief rex45 alert thread.

When o' when will this happen... I was torn between this and the Shaman Z wear. I've made up my mind to try for this one, however I hope it comes first so I don't reverse my decision should the other ship to dealers first.

Re: SPY27 Native 5 Lightweight

My last two for the year will be the Native SPY27 and the Z wear Shaman. I’d be lucky to get either.

Re: SPY27 Native 5 Lightweight

You are able to add to cart on the Spyderco Factory Outlet website. Price is a bit higher including shipping than online dealers are showing even with a discount. I think that is the norm though.

Re: Native 5 lw with SPY27?

It looks like you can add to your cart on the Spyderco Factory Outlet website. I wonder how long before it shows up at the different dealers? Days? Weeks?

Re: Z Wear Shaman OR Rex 45 Chief

I already have a couple of natives. Probably my favorite size and model for EDC. This is, of course, another excuse to pick up a new & different knife. I too like smaller fixed knives in the 3 - 1/2" to 4 -1/2" range and wish it made sense to carry them more regularly. Unfortunately Hunting, hiking,...

Re: Z Wear Shaman OR Rex 45 Chief

Nerdlock, you do have some good points about it looking very stretched compared to the Native. I just keep coming back to the fact that if I am going to buy something with a ~4" + blade that will only be carried for yardwork/hiking/hunting it should just be a fixed blade. Maybe the SPY27 Mule. Z-wea...

Re: SPY27 Native 5 Lightweight

I thought I would love the Para3 and bought one. Shortly after I landed the St Nicks Native. It instantly became my favorite model. I decided that the Para3's shrunken dimensions didn't appeal to me like I thought it would based on the PM2, but that's just me. I'm sure I am in the minority

Re: SPY27 Native 5 Lightweight

I really want one but I take solace in the fact that they should be regular production. The Shaman Z wear & Rex45 Chief sprint have my full focus now. Maybe I'll pick one up in the second round.

Re: Need advice! Freehand or Guided System

I grew up learning to freehand sharpen. It’s a very universal skill. I know there are a variety of jigs that allow you to sharpen pretty much anything with a guided system but it feels like a dog and pony show sometimes. Without all the guides you can move through the grits faster in my experience. ...

Re: Z Wear Shaman OR Rex 45 Chief

I originally avoided anything but a compression lock or Ball bearing lock like the plague. That all changed when I got my first native. I feel as though I like them equally. An equal lock opportunity employer, if you will. However, I did elect to get the back lock lil’ native as opposed to the compr...
