Re: New release 3/24 CutleryShoppe exclusive!

Sharpest Tootsie Roll I’ve ever seen! Mine got into a fight with an aluminum can and won. Edge didn’t seem affected in the slightest.

Re: I took apart my Pheonix

I cut 4 rings off the original spring. Lock stick is negligible now and the action is improved, IMO. Easy fix.

Re: New release 3/24 CutleryShoppe exclusive!

Just a tip: If you are manually typing in any information during checkout you are going to have a harder time getting any of these that sell out quickly. You should be logged in, already have your address and payment info stored in your account if possible, and have autofill set up with all your in...

Re: New release 3/24 CutleryShoppe exclusive!

Had one in my cart at 1001 MST, entering card number at 1002... and already sold out and won't let me finalize the order. Thanks for the reminder of why I usually don't even bother trying to score sprint runs and exclusives these days, I guess. Just a tip: If you are manually typing in any informat...

I will be super upset if I only get a piece of candy lol
Well, that is what we bought, ya know. I'm gonna bring out the nice silverware and enjoy mine. I haven't had a Tootsie Roll in ages :D

And maybe there will be something else in the package worth taking a look at. ;)

Re: New release 3/24 CutleryShoppe exclusive!

My sweet tooth got the better of me. Had to order that Tootsie Roll. Sweet!! I've got a good feeling you and VooDoo are ahead of the game now. You can laugh evilly as the server crashes and they sell out in 30 seconds! Thanks for the heads up! That's definitely the most expensive Tootsie Rol...

I really like the combo, but I have too many PM2s already, if such a thing is possible. Maybe I'll sell one. Now if this was a Military or a Manix 2 I'd lose my marbles.

Re: Blog Entry: Most Bizarre Spyderco Knives

My vote goes to the new Swayback; at least to me it looks upside down. The end of the handle sweeps up instead of down, the end of the blade sweeps down instead of up and the lines appear to run opposite of where they should. Every time I pick mine up I find myself fumbling with it because I’m hold...

It just needs some breaking in. I'm sure a few 100 cycles will work it out and strengthen your fingers too.
If you had my knife in your hands, you'd see how painful that few 100 cycles would be. I don't have weak hands, either. This is an easy fix. ;)

Re: I took apart my Pheonix

The spring is a bit too wide for the plunger head, but not enough that it'll go over it. It sits just a bit canted. Works great, though. I imagine it would last about forever, but I plan to swap the original back after modification. If it were a $5 knife I wouldn't worry about it, but this isn't exa...

Re: I took apart my Pheonix

Well, curiosity got the better of me. I took it apart and swapped the factory spring with a spring from a Pilot G-2 pen and the lockstick is gone. I'll play around with it for a while to confirm then I'll be trimming the factory spring.

Re: I took apart my Pheonix

Mine has bad lockstick as well, which is really unfortunate considering how much I like the knife otherwise. It opens so smoothly. I wonder if a shorter spring would help. The stock spring seems stronger than it needs to be.

Blade shouldn't be hitting the scales anyway. It rides on the washers.

Re: Brass/Copper Salt Spyderco? Possible?

It wouldn't make the cut for the Salt Series, as that is all about zero-corrosion. That being said, there's no reason you couldn't make such a knife anyway, minus the Salt Series part. I kind of like the idea of an extremely non-reactive blade paired with a reactive handle. Yin and Yang Series might...
