Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Ronin fixed blade. I'm curious as to how concealable such a large knife will be utilizing the included sheath.

The little guy is now approaching 14 years and he still walks 3 miles a day and chases every turkey and deer that approaches the back of the house.

Re: phenomenal premium steels in an itty bitty living space
In years past I didn't carry anything under about a 3-1/2" blade (no length laws in my state). Then on a whim, I threw out a bid on eBay for a new Chaparral Rafir Noble. What a great little knife this has been over the past 6 months, or so. It cuts like a laser and does just about everything I ...

I do. I love my raffir. More models with these scales and this steel would be something I would be very interested in if they were larger.

This is one and there are 3 more drawers, plus about 20 more kitchen knives. I gave away 2 each to each of my 8 kids/grandchildren, last weekend.

I use depending on where I am. Gun oil on my knife chest. 3-in-One SRE 20 in my desk drawer and mineral oil on my workbench. They all work for me.

I started early this morning smoking a half a ham butt. This is for a big family get together this afternoon. I used my Smock to score it. Guess this is why they call them “pig stickers”.

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
Just received my order for a Smock. So far it’s a big disappointment. There is no way I can tune this to where I can flip it. The blade is very good, but as far as I’m concerned the total evaluation is a 4 out of 10. Sorry!

If you want a great chefs knife in the 2-$300 range you can’t go wrong with a GLOBAL SAI. I do a lot of cooking and have used them for years. FWIW.

I hope it works out for you. I ground knives in my garage for many years while wearing (always) what were considered the latest respirators for what was being ground. I ended up with lymphoma and have to buy pre-made blanks to continue playing with knives.

Re: How does your Significant Other coexist with your knife collecting syndrome?
After 16 years of retirement we don’t monitor nor care what the other may want or care what the other may want to buy or invest in. We both maintain individual and combined accounts.
