Re: Finally got a G-10 Manix

Are you talking about the pivot or the lock?
On almost every Manix I have, I've chopped the spring to reduce preload. One could argue that it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, but it makes me happy so I do it.

These little pressure washers seem to do a reasonable job. Now I want one of those fancy foam cannon.

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

It could be one of two knives that are most likely to find their way into my pocket nowadays. The first is an Endura K390 LW SE. I carry it most days. I can count on it to hack through anything that is hackable. The other knife is the Stretch 2 XL CruWear. The plain edge is more sensible for many t...

Re: Most Noble Order of the Sock Drawer

So welcome member #0054? We will get these question marks removed once the ad in the newspaper runs for a week requesting any previous claims or paternity claims. Yes, please. This is perfect, as it just happens to be the size of Rosie O'Donnell's undergarments. How "fitting." And even if...

Re: Most Noble Order of the Sock Drawer

I have been hacked by my old archnemesis at the Under Drawer Club. When I first heard of this "Sock Drawer" group, I thought it was a bunch of foot fetishists. But now you're telling me that among you are a sub-culture of underwear thieves? Sick! How does one join up? And suppose someone ...

I'd like to see the Manix LW become a showcase for different steels in serrated form through sprint runs.

Nooooooo!!!!
I wouldn't be able to resist!

Re: An ongoing mystery: Why still no ffg Manix 2 SE? (NOT meant as a complaint)

serrations are fragile and the Manix 2 is more of a tough knife. That has not been my experience. I've found that serrations cut some tough materials better than a plain edge. When the job is complete, the serrated edge is still suitable for continued use, while the plain edge can be disappointingl...

The latest news out of the European Union is that Victorinox is completely abandoning their failed pocket knife endeavor, and has secured a contract to equip the Swiss military with modern main battle tanks.

I'm not a football watcher, so the event didn't really hold that much appeal for me. Are you talking about Nikki Glaser? That girl cracks me up. She had her own show for a while. I might have watch the Tom Brady thing just to see her.

Re: Is Spyderco missing out on the fixed blade market?

Why so many discontinued? Poor sales. Why the current offerings? Because Sal and company are still trying. The market has shown that we say we want exotic materals but what we actually want is lower prices. That's an interesting assessment. I have no data to support nor refute your contention, but ...

Re: Anyone have a card with "fraud prevention services" get in the way of buying stuff?

it's just difficult to know which ones do ahead of time, and I'm sure you all know what it's like buying sprints You should do some "test purchases" from all the stores you think will be selling sprints. It might cost a little more, but you'll have extra knives and peace of mind. 💰🔪🥰 A wh...

Re: Victorinox going bladeless

The title is misleading. Victorinox is not going bladeless. Victorinox will begin selling bladeless "knives" in markets where bladed tools are not allowed. It seems like a sound marketing decision. Spyderco makes knives to meet the requirements of different regions--it makes sense.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Try it with your SE K390 next time @RustyIron. I would be interested to see how that one handles it. Your wish is my command, JSumm . I made another belt today and used the serrated K390. It was better. The serrations cut through the tough outer fabric much more nicely. I used a sawing motion. The ...

This dummy was stretched out across the road on Thursday. To me, it didn't seem like a safe place to sun oneself, so I encouraged him to move along.
