Re: After-Market Micarta Scales for Para 3?

RC Bladeworks currently has a range of Para 3 Micarta scales available on eBay and Knives Plus. None of them are green. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=para%203%20micarta%20scales https://www.knivesplus.com/rc-bladeworks-scales.html I recently put a set of RCBW scales in my Para 3 and they are...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Really nice design. That pattern of laminate CF is not appealing. Many things I like - thin 2.5mm blade stock, light weight, wire clip, simple handle shape, pointy tip. Looks cool, and I generally love to see more thinner-blade-stock knives! If I’m not mistaken this is the first compression lock on...

Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives

But then it’d no longer be a Native or resemble one. It would be a whole new knife, not a bad thing mind you, just not a Native. Correct, a major design feature of the Native/Manix is the choil. Suggesting "removal" is a new knife, not a CQI adjustment. I find finger choils have mixed blessings: On...

Re: The kapara for a millie

OP, you have the Kapara and friend is offering you a Military for it?

Two factors:
Which version?
How good a friend?

I should add that Kapara doesn’t do much for me, so I know my answer

Maybe a Gayle Bradley 2? Even though I don't own one, I've heard nothing but good things and you'll get to try M4.
I’ll second the GB2, especially if you have already done PM2 and Millie in S110v.
GB2 is classy, tough and versatile, and gives you a new steel to play with

Re: Smallest spyderco you are comfortable with?

Hey guys, Am I the only one hooked on the Rhino? Later, Don No, that's my pick too. Along with the LilNative,Vrango, Lil Nilaaka. Third call in the Rhino as my smallest go-to. Prefer the ergos to the Lil' Native and DF2. Had an Air that I liked a lot, but it was a little too slim and awkward in my ...

Re: Largest Spyderco you're comfortable with?

I love my Militaries, but they are too big in pocket and in the eyes of the beholders to carry around town or put in use around gentlefolk. So their use is confined to my outdoor activities. GB2 is only slightly smaller, slightly heavier but classy and not as pointy/aggressive looking, so it is my b...

Re: The threesome fight!

Thanks for the review and thoughts. Like many, I've also come to the conclusion that the GB2 is a winner, and it is my go to for work or play. Love my Militaries too, but I appreciate what you mean about the plastic/rattley feel vs. luxury of the Taichungs.

Enjoy hollow grinds!

Mantra 2 Experience

Anybody have and use a Mantra 2? Looking at getting one for a more subdued carry and I’m attracted to the slim design, but wondering how the low blade height for a 3mm stock thickness impacts cutting.

Any direct experience, positive or not, is appreciated!

How have I never heard of this knife before - it looks amazing!

Half-way through 2019 now, does that mean the odds of this being revealed have gone up... or down?

Re: Carrying the spydiechef without a clip

I do the same - don’t care for the wire clip and how it scrapes the ti-scales, and the Chef is slim enough to land nicely at the bottom of the pocket

Re: How I Really Buy Knives

By the time you are reading and posting on knife forums, it's a pretty thin pretence of logical/practical knife purchase habits.

Design aesthetic and enjoyment-in-use are my key values, neither of which hems me in too much during the selection process.

Re: What's your 2 knife EDC system?

Usually only carry one at a time, but if I have a mind for pairing, I try to match the wine with the cheese:

GB2 and GB Air
Stretch 2 and Brouwer
Spydiechef and Caly Jr.
Military and Rhino
