Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

Slight deviation everyone, but how were the past forum knives been sold...were those only exclusives to forum members (with tenure) or was it available at a limited run to the public? If there's one thing I really dislike about the Sprint Run format, is that as an international customer with a diff...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

All good intel, thanks!

Perhaps a Native 5 Lockback in the same combo would generate more excitement. Traditional classy chassis, traditional classy scale material.

I’ll put more thought into the recipe until I get a hard no from the powers that be.

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

Well, this is a very exciting development! It sounds like I’ve found two partners willing to help me cough up about a million bucks to invest in Spyderco inventory to sit on for a while. And in the middle of a recession. Didn’t think it would be that easy! If not, I can just sell my megayacht, or m...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

I mean. If you're serious then become a dealer and cut sal a check. Although every once in a while forum posts go somewhere. Right? If BBS is considered a dealer then the barrier to entry can't be too high. My thoughts exactly. That place is clearly one or two dudes in a garage with pile...

I mean. If you're serious then become a dealer and cut sal a check. Although every once in a while forum posts go somewhere. 100% serious. Again, drawing the parallel with the whiskey clubs, these hardcore enthusiasts (who all have day jobs) are given the priceless opportunity to partner with the m...

Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

I was just looking at some of my favorite private label bourbon bottles, while fidgeting with a Shaman. And just like that old Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ad from the 80s, “You got chocolate in my peanut butter!”, I was struck with an epiphany. Can we form a collective, and write a check for an exclu...

Work Sharp Discounts/Sales/Coupon Codes Anywhere?

Looking for a Ken Onion Edition w/Blade Grinding Attachment. Seems like they’re the same price everywhere.

Wondering if anyone knows about maybe seasonal sitewide sales anywhere that I could take advantage of.

Would very much appreciate some direction.

Re: Where Can I Buy/Sell Discontinued Models Without Supporting The Flippers?

For models that I wish that I had a backup for, or for models that I was lucky enough to grab two of, and would like to pay it forward. The Bladeforums folks have a lot of restrictions for people who don’t pay their membership fee. There’s a Facebook group “Spyderco Knives,” that allows buying and ...

http://bentoboxshop.com/ has a lot of sprints, exclusives, and discontinued models to choose from.
I appreciate the suggestion. Figured that they basically only had their own exclusives for sale, rather than sprints as well.

The buy/sell/trade portion of Bladeforums is probably the best place to avoid supporting the flippers. I will use eBay but it helps to look for long discontinued models which requires patience if you are interested in something that just sold out on 2020.
Thanks so much for the tip!

Happy to pay some sort of premium. Not happy to reward/encourage flippers.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Just emptied the mailbox, and opened my DLT CPM 20CV Red Manix 2 backup. I love this knife so hard. My wife accidentally knocked the needlepoint edge off my current one when we were working around the house a couple of months ago. She’s the hardest worker I’ve ever met, and felt like **** about it. ...

I’m Scots-Irish, born in Northern Ireland, and a proud American patriot. I’m drinking rye, since it’s Independence Day weekend. •••••• The Scots-Irish immigrants that had arrived in the 1600 and 1700s were having trouble adapting barley for their whisky to the climate in Maryland and Pennsylvania, s...

Re: Best Steel For Small Hand Saws? Toughness or Wear Resistance?

I saw those Japanese hand saws by Silky on DLTTrading, and ended up suggesting one of those as part of a gift for survival type stuff. They look sweet. In fact I’ll probably pick one up myself. Don’t know which would be best in hiking/survival type scenario (fine, medium, coarse tooth). I would say...

Re: Best Steel For Small Hand Saws? Toughness or Wear Resistance?

Of the main features for a good axe I don't feel that would be the best sign of a high performance axe nor is it available or affordable in a format that makes a quality axe first. Same with a saw. Geometry and other features are more important than adding steels with more exotic carbides and volum...
