Re: Spyderco Customizer: A future possibility or a forever dream?
It is a shame that Spyderco is not likely to do a custom shop like Benchmade or Buck knives. I was hoping they would do something like that with their Golden made products.

Re: What little Spyderco is next
I have a Dragonfly 2 and it is a great little knife. I prefer the G10 handles scales to the FRN.

How about one of the sprint run Meerkats? There is a new blue handle Meerkat that has been announced.

Re: VToku2 vs. hap40 vs. VG10 steel
Thank you for the suggestion but the Stretch is a completely unacceptable knife for me.Doeswhateveraspidercan wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 2:43 pmMight Consider a Stretch 2 it is available in all 3 steels and is a fantastic EDC
I think I will continue saving for the sprint run Meerkat.
Thank you very much for your suggestion.

Re: VToku2 vs. hap40 vs. VG10 steel
Thank you very much gentlemen for your replies. I have decided to obtain one of the new sprint run Meerkats in VToku2 blade steel to go along with my Meerkat in Hap40 blade steel.
I am not sure which will be my EDC but I am leaning towards the Hap40 steel.

Re: 2019 Reveal Volume One - Live!
I think that is very reasonable. I know it will give me time to save up for a Meerkat. Hopefully they will not sell out before I can get one.

VToku2 vs. hap40 vs. VG10 steel
I have experience with VG10 blade steel but not the other two. How do they compare to easy of sharpening and edge holding ability? I have a Meerkat in Hap40 that I have not used and I am considering the upcoming sprint run of the Meekat in VToku2. Just wondering what to expect performance wise. Than...

Re: Hard truths and observations
Interesting thread, For me it seems very simple, Do I want it? Can I or do I want to spend whatever it costs to buy it. If it is yes to both questions I buy it. If it is no then I don’t buy it.

For me it would be in no particular order the Navigator, Meerkat, Cricket and Dragonfly2. I like the Meerkat enough that I am considering carrying it as an EDC.

I love how the Navigator and Meercat fit in my hands. The Dragonfly 2 does a good job but I wish it filled the hand a little better.

Re: Custom scales pics.
I know Cuscadi has done dragonfly scales in the past. Have you asked them? No, I have not. Is that his name here on the board? Let me answer this: It's a German company that does pretty good custom-scales. I have an Endura with their micarta-, and a Millie with their wooden scales. www.cuscadi.de S...

Re: What's the lowest edge retention steel you'd carry?
I have carried slipjoints with 1095 steel and they were fine. I just had to sharpen them more often. As far as Spyderco knives I guess my cutoff steel would be ATS-34. I am not the steel snob that I was. A decent steel with a good heat treat works well for me. I can always touch up the edge when I g...

Re: Knives you wish you could like
The Lil’ Native is one of those knives that I REALLY want to like! I mean, S30v steel, G10, 2.5 inch blade and it is made in Golden, CO. Everything that I love but when I went to handle one it didn’t feel as comfortable as my Dragonfly2. It seemed harder to open than my Dragonfly2. So, the Dragnofly...

Granvitating to smaller knives. I work in an office setting so my knife chores are pretty light duty. If I am in my garage and I need something for heavy duty cutting I grab a fixed blade hanging on the wall.

Have you ever wanted to really like a knife but...
I fiund a Lil’Native at the local Cabelas, I thought “Great!, I get to try one out before buying it!” I tried it out and all I can say is “Meh.” I felt ok in the hand but trying to open it was more difficult than my Dragonfly 2. It was very smooth and the fit and finish was excellent, no complaints ...

Oh, lets see. How about a Lil' Native with blurple G10 handle with a nice M4 steel blade.
A Cricket with micarta handle scales and ZDP189 blade steel.
Let add this to the list: Dragonfly 2 with blurple G10 scales and Hap40 blade steel.

I would love to see the Cricket with a new stainless steel blade.
