Re: Hard truths and observations

Why support a communist system tho?
What if you need to warranty that Chinese made knife? You gona send it to China? They don't even legally have to send you your knife back, they don't even have to respond to your warranty inquiry

Re: How delicate is the Chaparral really? And is it for trailrunning (waistband-carry)?

Tbh, when I run, the most thing I'd need a knife for is for dogs, I've almost been attacked by dogs and have been attacked more then I can count, and never had a knife when it counted, have something that you would be confident you could fend off a dog attack. When I have been attacked, the only thi...

Re: Maintaining pm 2 s110v edge with sharp maker

I had a feeling you were going to say that haha, I have some practicing to do One of the best decisions I ever made in regards to sharpening was to go to lower grit finishes. Learning how to get shaving sharpness off your coarse stones is a great skill to have. I've found my EDC knives hold an edge...

Re: Maintaining pm 2 s110v edge with sharp maker

Hey I've read your tests quite a bit, and I was wondering when you sharpen to a 400 grit, do you get a razor sharp toothy edge? Or is it just a granny really close to sharp edge? As I haven't been able to obtain that razor sharpness off 400 grit So I'm mostly asking if my technique is off? It's scr...

Re: Maintaining pm 2 s110v edge with sharp maker

Will a spyderco sharp maker maintain a edge on a spyderco paramilitary 2 s110v edge? Keeping in mind i just use knifes on simpler tasks i dont process cardboard all day. Maybe on ocation i might cut a bit of cardboard and open packages of coffee beans mostly when i use a knife. Would apreciate your...

Re: Maintaining pm 2 s110v edge with sharp maker

The experience I have as compared to other in this thread and forum is miniscul, so I'm no end all be all and I at times struggle to even get that razor edge, (tho I'm getting better). I generally avoid the burr as when I get one I at times struggle to remove it haha then I have to sharpen for 5 min...

Re: Steel Testing YouTube Videos

Yes I have heard that carbide tear out is a myth, even with Michael Christy's tests with s110v he had minimal difference in tests when sharpening with softer abrasives as compared to using only diamond stones, I have done no scientific research myself but most people consider it a myth

Re: Grease or nano oil on bearings?

For my bearing knives I just run them dry, or so!e graphite oil, as it'll evaporate and won't collect any debris, but running them dry nothing can collect in there, not sure about spydercos bearings, but zt will replace them if something we're to go wrong with them so I don't worry at all about runn...

Re: Carpet vs. VG10/S110V

I learned that s110v was far from invincible a long time ago. This test reminds me of the rope on the dredge that is saturated in sand, silt, and grit (a few people here were in disbelief that s110v could be blunted in minutes). No PE knife stands a chance to a test like this. We can go on and on a...
