Re: P4 FRN aftermarket clip help

https://i.imgur.com/FLVp8xN.jpg Just picked this guy up a few days ago, had the clip on my delica and wanted to try it out. Works wonderfully and IMO improves the already excellent ergos. A real winner in my book FWIW! Thank you for the photo it really helps! That looks great. From looking at other...

Re: P4 FRN aftermarket clip help

Here's a MXG 20191018_155740-1440x1920.jpg Thanks, but I'm looking to see what it would look like with the "long" version of the MXG or Lynch clips. Not the short clips. How do you find that short one working on the police? I would guess it's sort of rough on clothes or gets a bit caught up on mate...

Re: Let's take a look inside my Police 4

That DLC looks incredible! The screws were put back on the reverse side as normal. :D Do you mind saying how much the entire cost was for that DLC job? Please let us know how it holds up over time or if you notice anything noteworthy as it gets used related to rust etc. It would be great if spyderco...

P4 FRN aftermarket clip help

Could anyone who has the new police 4 lightweight version + either of the "Long" Lynch or MXG deep carry clips help me out? Specifically I wonder about the flat oval in the center of the FRN handles and if either of these 2 aftermarket clips make contact with that oval area any better than the stand...

Re: Police4 Sharpening and re-profiling advice?

Any more advice on some good options that haven't been mentioned yet for where to send this for a re-profiling and sharpening? I'd say I pretty much want to approach or push the limits of what K390 on this model can handle, so if I sent it to someone like BBB or vivi who already have been using thei...

Re: Police4 Sharpening and re-profiling advice?

Here's a quote from Sal about his Police 4 prototype's custom edge: Thanx for the edge Joris. What angle are you using? . I understand K390 will take and hold a very thin edge. I sharpened the proto to about 20 degrees inclusive with no problems. sal so it sounds like about 10 degrees per side is as...

Re: Police4 Sharpening and re-profiling advice?

Thanks so much for the very quick replies Pelagic and Vivi!! I really wasn't expecting any replies so fast. You guys are awesome. :) I will consider buying that DMT coarse diamond Vivi, but probably not right away. Thanks for the suggestions. I do also have some Arkansas stones. One of them is a lit...

Re: Police4 pics and impressions ( pics restored )

Just wanted to send a quick THANK YOU to bearfacedkiller for making this thread so long ago and all the photos and info he posted. This thread is what really got me interested in the P4 long before I bought one. It's such a good design and I am eager to see what is released in the FRN handle variati...

Police4 Sharpening and re-profiling advice?

Hey everyone, I have a Police4 that had a pretty weird patina pattern until I took a long time scrubbing it away to start over. So what I have is pretty much a new Police4, but with a scoured blade. (It actually looks pretty cool now with a faded spyderco bug logo and wording on the blade. You can s...

Re: 2019 Catalog Live!

I'm curious about the Smock on page 72. I had heard it was going to be changed to have a differently designed clip that could be installed on either side. (instead of only 1 side) But this new catalog still shows it with the old clip design. Is that just an oversight? Maybe there is still enough tim...

Re: Spyderco Hatchet

Hey all, Are there any new reports or info about this hatchet that I've missed? I REALLY would have expected some of the more popular youtubers to have done some in-depth testing and reviews with this model by now. I've been checking occasionally for new videos or other info about it, but haven't fo...

Re: Spyderco Hatchet

As pointed out to me via PM, the GP Knives video shows the same issues. I don't know if it's a different one than i received but the marks are almost identical. Shoot, they look identical to me, enough to where i believe the one they show in the video is the one i received. Of course the video does...

Re: How can one become member of a "Collector's Club"?

To join the club and choose your number is no small thing. Rumor has it you also have to meet Sal in person to sign the super secret Collectors Club membership with your own blood pricked from your nose with a special old Spyderco made for this exact purpose. It is a model that was never mass produc...

Re: Would you prefer if Spyderco boxes were improved in any way?

I agree. In the cases I was thinking of the responsibility most always falls on the shoulders of the distributor/seller to make sure it is packaged well enough for shipping. There are other factors sometimes. I guess I was partly just wondering if Spyderco is aware that some of their distributors ar...

Thanks for the answer KnickKnack.

Here's an Ebay deal, but it is only for $5 off anything over $5.01........ not sure how long it lasts. Every little bit of savings helps.

Re: Would you prefer if Spyderco boxes were improved in any way?

I've had sellers go as far as to pack Styrofoam peanuts in the knife box so the knife doesn't move in transit. If that is a beneficial thing for shipping a Spyderco (which I think it is) wouldn't it be kind of fair to say that step maybe should have been taken by Spyderco themselves, rather than th...
