Cao87 at $80+ For a pancake sheath like this is a little much if you ask me. I spent about that on some leather, a punch, wax cord, dye and clear coat finish. I’ve already made two sheaths an I have enough leather to make 2 or 3 more.

If you want any pointers let me know!

What about spyderco stretch

Stretch is a great knife too. If you like your Delica but want a little larger and better grip so you won’t drop it, Stretch is a good option. I very much prefer the Manix however.

I agree, been saying it all along. I'm working in the warehouse myself. Love this blade and steel. Cleans up so easily too. Hard to decide between this and my BD1 LW model sometimes!

Another vote for the Manix Lightweight. I have the S110V version and love it. Takes and holds an aggressive edge for a long time. Mine is a work knife (construction) and plenty tough. With regard to dropping knives, a lighter knife hits the ground with less force than a heavier model dropped from the same height. My second choice for your application would be the Delica wharncliffe.

This thread is becoming exhausting. He had another one going where it was narrowed down to the Para 3 and Manix...a good 7 out of 10 of us had suggested the Manix. But here we are, 2 threads and 8 pages later and still no decision made. I've never seen such a drawn out debate over a freaking knife that's going to be dropped and abused in a warehouse.

I've only been working in a warehouse environment for the past 14 years...what do I know. :confused: :mad:

I am just doing research that is all. I am pretty sure what I want is the
Manix 2 but $124 is a lot for a knife, also I know about the Delica warrencliffe
But I have a regular Delica but it is a bit small. Anyways thank you for you advice

While I agree the op’s indecision is a little frustrating at this point, I admire his restraint from purchasing a new knife without being 100% sure. Most of us on here have already made up our minds on our next frivolous knife purchase and are looking for a little push, some justification for said purchase! Having said that, just buy a Manix already, lol!

Get a Mule in one of the high-abrasion steels. Wrap the handle in paracord. Relatively inexpensive sheath. If you're working in a warehouse, I don't think there's anything particularly alienating about a fixed-blade knife.

Actually in the 19 years I worked in a warehouse the only time I had any issue with carrying and using a knife is when it was a fixed blade. I was asked to carry a pocket knife instead.

These are the kinds of errors I make when I rely on common sense instead of real-life observation.

my favorite knife (not even just spyderco) is the manix 2 lw. it’s a wonderful blade and handle. it’s practically perfect. however, if you have to wear gloves, the cbbl might be a little cumbersome. (to be fair, i haven’t tried this; i’m just imagining it would be a little bit of a pain) i can open and close the manix one-handed, but it takes a little bit of focus to pull the cbbl back to close the blade.

for simplicity of use and robustness, i would probably suggest the native 5 lw. it’s a tough knife with a stout blade and great ergonomics that lock into your hand with or without gloves. the native begs to be beat on. it’s also cheaper than the manix or para 3. i would recommend the salt version unless lc200n doesn’t hold its edge long enough for your purposes, in which case i’d go with s110v.

another good option if you’re worried about hard use on an expensive knife is just using a utility knife. just get a cheap box cutter and beat the junk out of it. then get whatever pocket knife you want for normal edc tasks and keep it from the heavy chores at work. these expensive knives can take the work, but i understand not wanting to punish them after spending so much money on them.

Native is pretty much the same size as the Delica, and you've said you want bigger than your Delica.

Yup, already told him that. It’s a little taller, but shorter. I don’t find I get a better grip on it than a delica. There are a lot of great Spydie options but for this guy I’m sticking with a Manix recommendation, second choice Stretch.
