I like the jester - good job Spyderco. Kind of a modified Worker/Wegner Jr. blade - looks very usable.

I like the burgundy micarta too.

it's a wegner jr, jr...

I'll be buying at least one for myself.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Jester looks fine. What are the characteristics? Steel, length, weight, etc.? Price? Will it come in other colours? Like previously asked, does it have a clip?

Thanks.

Sal will have to fill in the details but I don't recall seeing a clip on the Jester. I do remember him saying it will be a limited run so, if you guys want one, don't hesitate or you may be disappointed.

Cheers,
Brian

Mr. Glesser,

I humbly bow to you for your graciousness, your generosity. You truly hear those who call upon you and answer our heartfelt pleas.

I have begged in the past (forgive me for my oftenwavering faith) for such creations: flat ground Co-Pilotish knife and a plain-edge in the Ladybug size.

To see both come to fruition on this very thread is too much for me.

Thank you, sir! Now where are those Kleenex...

Thanx for the pics Brian. Nicely done.

Thanx also for the kind comments.

Chinook, The "trade off" between fine tip (often broken) and wider or thicker tip for strength is always an issue. In the Salsa, I made the tip wide so it could still be thin. The Jester is a little wider and a little thicker than the Ladybug tip.

The actual Jester model will be FRN, available in March 2002, in 3 colors with AUS-6 in the blade. No clip. It is the same overall size as the Ladybug. Should be a nice key chain or "loose change" piece.

The micarta version is just a preliminary variation for which only 1000 will be made.

The "Salsa" has an Anodized aluminum version in blue, green and a gray/tan. Nested Compression lock, AUS-8. The Titan version has an integral compression lock and is ATS-34.

The wire clip is left/right on the aluminum version, but the Ti version is right hand only. sorry 'bout that, making the holes for the left hand version of the integral lock version would affect the lock spring.
