Weight balance ... I do like that explanation.

Obviously, I carry multiple knives for multiple purposes. For discussion, here are my current ideas for the multiple EDC knives:

1) Everyday use knife, in back pocket. Usually a 3 in. plain edge. Model varies.
2) A small serrated edge knife in the front pocket. Either the Meerkat or Ladybug Hawkbill; depends on the pants and the need for being less obvious. I came to the conclusion that I need to always carry a serrated edge knife for cutting plastic packaging.
3) Leatherman small multitool; Squirt or Micro. Because, I always find the need for a little multitool.
4) The poop has hit the fan knife. This true backup knife is carried in the waist band at 3 o’clock. It usually is a self defense blade and I know I will never need it for its designed pupose. But, in the case that talking, cell phone and finally Aikido can’t getting me out of a bad situation, it’s there. (I guess to make the bad situation even worse :o )

When someone asks why so many or why different sizes I think about my tool pouch. I have more than one screwdriver because there are more than one size/type screws. So, my answer to why so many knives I'd say something like "when the terrorists take us hostage maybe they'll overlook one of my knives during the strip search and I'll be able to take my Spyderco G-10 Dragonfly and save the American way of life as we know it" or something equally stupid. If they even indicate that's a stupid answer guess what I'd say. :)

Nice video. I did cringe at the "edge on ceramic" sound and I found it interesting that you used the thumbnail to open the banana when you were doing a EDC knife use video. :)

We don't get these silly questions in TX. Everybody has a knife.

I've heard in Texas you walk down the street without pants on and you get the question "How do you carry your knife?". :D Pants are optional but you don't dare get caught without a knife.

Yep wonderful Texas, home of the Alamo where Bowie died, yet Bowie knives are illegal to carry (yet they don't define exactly *what* is a Bowie knife) :) . And I think San Antonio prohibits lock blades, but I've heard that is just enforced as a way of deterring gangs. Elsewhere we can carry 5 1/2" blades!

But handguns are OK to carry and assault rifles are OK to buy?

Oops, I didn't know that. I can't remember for sure, but I was probably carrying my Endura when I visited the Alamo. Next time, I'll be safe and carry my Case XX Buffalo. It's the biggest folding knife I own (4" blade), but it doesn't lock. :)
