This question is too easy. The knife in the picture has the biggest handle that is comfortable to carry in all clothing situations. The blade is about as big as you can fit into the handle. The bidirectional finish on the handle is the best surface ever invented. The weight of the knife is substantially less than knives a fraction of its size. It's hard to be indecisive when this baby is sitting on the desk.

I've been on the fence about getting the Stretch 2 XL for a very long time now. I think this just pushed me over.
Waiting for the K390 XL to drop!

These days whatever is in my pocket from the day before tends to stay there. Mostly a Leatherman Curl.
If a Spyder, almost always the M2LW in BD1N. Cuts well, lightweight, and sharpens up in a snap. Second to that would be a Teal Endura in S30V.

When I can't decide I play "knife roulette."
I drop a ball on a tray of knives and carry whatever it lands on.

A Knifecenter exclusive Cruwear native 5.
I have several of these, most of which have different RGT scales on them.
I recently picked up a set of forest green smooth G-10 scales from the knifecenter S90v exclusive and put those on a satin Cruwear one. I've been carrying that one a lot. I like forest green.
It's usually accompanied by a smaller serrated knife, most often a lil Native.

90% of the time, I carry a small micarta insingo Sebenza 21. If I want even less weight though, it's an Emerson Dragonfly.

Always it's my Dragonfly Wharncliffe K390 in the pocket. Amazing cutting performance in such a small knife. It's in my pants' pocket 24-7, whether I'm wearing them or not.
When I can't decide, well, I'm having trouble deciding what I can't decide!

You should really try it, it’s even better for me than an Endura or PM2. Sal is a genius.

I would have said my Native 5 LW S110v, but I've been grabbing my S90V Urban a LOT lately. It's becoming my new go-to most days.

Tough question, and one I have to answer every day. My only hard and fast rule is that if I'll be sweating, fishing or going to the beach, it'll be some sort of Salt. Around the house it could be anything, but if I don't have a strong inclination it'll probably be a UKPK.

I usually pick a knife to carry depending on the day of the week to stick to a theme of sorts like Wharnie Wednesday, Framelock Friday, etc. This morning was one of those days where I couldn't decide, so I chose my Shamwari like often do. It's plain and clean-looking, no fob, not too big, not too small, works well in most situations, and doesn't feel out of place no matter the attire I'm in.
What are your go-tos when you can't decide quickly?
When in doubt, I just reach for my Yojimbo 2. It's the folding knife I've used for work the longest at this point, so I just grab it because using it is almost second nature to me. If I want to vary it up or if I need something more discreet, I grab either the Lil' Temperance 3 LW or the MicroJimbo.

The Police4 is the first choice I grab for, one of my M2's would get the pull if all my Police4 's are not sharp lol. Then, what's not to like about either one of these; and why I have a re-donk-u-less amount of both these two knives lol...
This pic is my go to favorite when it is stupidly sharp, which it is most of the time lol.

If all else fails it'll be a clipless DF2. Whichever one I grab.
If a clipped knife, and I just can't decide, then the first Delica I grab. Usually good for whatever the day brings.

A many years old ZDP-189 Endura 4 that I re-skinned in Navy linen micarta, and a Manbug Leaf SE. That's the long and the short of it. However I recently began affairs with a coupla Millies (1 & 2) and I'm pretty smitten.

.... something I know can handle everything, I'd reach for a Pacific Salt and Leatherman Rebar.
Exactly that would most likely be my own rational choice too (the Pac Salt in SE for me) for "can handle everything" and combined still be a slim and light overall package (perhaps I'd go with the knifeless Rebar though cause this one offers scissors, unlike the regular one. No backup knife blade on the other hand.
And as always: I wish they gave the Rebar a diamond coated file... ok, I am wandering into off topic here, so I'll stop).

Me, too! But the PD#1 was available, and I like the color. You know what they say, one in the hand is worth two in the bush. But in my case, I bought two of the sprints, so they're worth four in the bush. I'm liking it enough that I might not jump on the K390 when it becomes available. After all, it's a production model, so one would expect it to be available for a while.

I get you!
I actually somehow try NOT to prefer SE that much, cause PE means a lot more options when it comes to Spyderco models and most sharpening gear is rather trimmed towards PE.
... but I can't. A good spyderedge overall just is superior
in EDC folders in my personal use (of course the milage of many others may (and does) vary).
...And we've talked about it in another thread: That new unbelievable king of cutting monsters Chap SE did not exactly help in bringing me back to PE...

I was just sat with my youngest son, showing him how to eat an apple off of a knife without cutting himself when the notification of your quote came up. I thought to myself “Ooh, I wonder what Gernot is saying?” and opened up my browser to find your litany of praise for the SE Chap LW…as I was cutting up the apple in question…with an SE Chap LW
