Dust, I have a heck of a collection at the house, even better one in the shop.
I am more accumulator than collector, I guess that puts me in the WSMF category.

I guess more than anything else, I buy H1 spydies... so that would be what I collect?
Oh, and Chokwes and H1 Spyderhawks, of course... :D

I collect whatever I'll carry or think I might. Strong enthusiasm for a particular Spydie in this and the USN forums is also an influencing factor. However, as I've 'collected' more Spydies, my preferences have been refined, so now I'm less likely to buy a Spydie for the cool-factor alone.

Interesting , I took a tour of my collection to see where my heart is with Spyderco and found a diverse group of knives . I tend to only go after Ambi or dedicated left hand knives . I steer toward older stock if it has a realistic price . I have noticed a trend to collect the higher end which closes down my purchases of more economical knives . I do have a modest collection of Natives , Endura , and Hawkbills , but CF handles seem to be the largest point of my collection . Regards MG2

My CF binge is becoming costly but it's kinda worth it. I just have to buy two though one for my pocket and one for the shelf. If only i could just buy a knife and not use it i'd save so much money

Whatever strikes my fancy :) . I've been paying a lot more to features that I like in knives, especially about ergonomics, than I did before I had a lot of experience with different higher end knives. I am looking for ultimate user knives.

Interesting answers, I must say. It seems most of us fall into the "whatever strikes my fancy" category. Some, like me, with a certain bias, but most don't have a rigid collecting sceme.
If there's a sceme, it most often seems to be a certain model or model family (e.g. Delica/Endura).

So I guess you still have that Tuffram Worker? :D
Collecting Spyderedge exclusively is rather unique, since most models retain/improve their value better when they are plain edged.
I only have few models with Spyderedge and they have to work, whereas the plainedges get admired.

I don't collect so much as occasionally buy backups for really good knives that I don't want to lose and then discover they have become irreplaceable
Trouble is Spyderco are good at this at the moment.
I'd like a G10 Caly 3, Rock Lobster, CF Stretch2, black S30V Para - other things I'd like to score are the new Dragonfly, the JD Smith and the orange Millie. Pretty much put me straight with the world that would. My bank manager (not to say my wife) would castrate me however

As you can see, each one fits a certain 'need' that I make up to rationalize buying. I will probably never buy more than one of each (unless it breaks). Im a marketing guy, I like to figure out different needs and then fill it...
Next up is...one of the following:
Leafstorm - cool, unusual, collaboration
Rookie - mid-size carry
G10 Dfly - love G10 (so, OK I will have more than one FRN and SS)
Something H1 - Atlantic?
Cat/Boston - small, CF carry
Something ball lock - Manix 2?
Dont know which to get next...
Just to show that Im true to my word...as you will note in my small, but nice signature line. Leafstorm, Atlantic Salt, Rookie have all been checked off the list. Also added Navigator for surprise element that Im going to have Tom Krein do FFG and reprofile to look more like Dfly blade...that will be sweet.
