Well said.

Spyderco was the first company to get Magnacut to the market. Magamax as well.BeggarSo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2026 4:53 amIt's about timing, back then Blade HQ had all the hype about M4 on there side, (still not sure what that is all about, not a great steel rusts and doesnt hold an edge probably makes a good ax) what they should have done is very simple wait.
Wait and release these in Magnamax, Tanto as well I have owned those and they are an incredible example of what Spyderco can produce, dare I say grind out.
Lets face it Magnacut is all over the place and Spyderco by comparrison was very late to the party releasing it and it feels like only now hit it's stride.
Jade handles uh yeah I'm okay not going out of my way for them, I get it some people love them but not a selling point here in a blade I already own.
As fot youtubers, the recent batch are not as good as the previous ones like Smoke eater and super annoying Shabazz guy, and yes they all read from the same script probably getting knives on Amazon to do there little video and then returning them.
I am at the point now where I can skip around and see what I'm looking for as the script is set.
What I really watch is someone using the knife not just trotting it out on their often incorrect opinion runway.
Are you counting Mule Team? When it comes to first out with Magnacut because I do remember other companies being first.Mushroom wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:40 amSpyderco was the first company to get Magnacut to the market. It takes years for an exclusive order to get to market from the time it is ordered. Magnamax wasn't even an option when this exclusive was ordered.
The good thing is, BladeHQ comes out with more exclusives than everyone else. The chances of another Tanto PM2 exclusive, in due time, are inevitable.
It might even be a Salt like this one. A Magnacut Tanto blade, coated hardware, and scales with additional grip for wet environments. Time will tell.
Or maybe...

Yes, the Mule team's are what I was referring to when I say they were first to market with those steels.
Ah yes sir, then that seems right, I was not counting Mule Team as I view them as experimental, kind of like the 1st melt Maximet that was not quite right so to my thinking difficult to consider as 1st to market but hey why not?
Official response might be to send it in. If you are comfortable doing the work yourself, you might try taking it apart and seeing if there is a burr hanging it up somewhere.silver & black wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2026 3:48 pmI got my PM 2 frim BHQ today. It might be the worst operating knife I have purchased. It looks great.... perfect centered blade, scales are great but, It is extremely stiff as far as the blade opening and closing. I have played with it for a few hours now... nothing works except to completely remove the pivot screws. I have found every DLC coated blade I own is like this to some extent. Any tips to get this thing working right?
I kind of figured as much. I have no problem doing the work.... I'm just not in the mood to do it right now...lol. I have a new Lynch clip coming for it. When I get it, I'll take it apart and see what I can do. While it's apart I'll round over the egdes on the scales like I do with all of my G10/Micarta Spydercos. Have you... or anyone else had issues with DLC coated blades being "sticky" as compared to plain steel?Red Leader wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2026 6:39 pmOfficial response might be to send it in. Try cutting something with it. It's a cutting tool not a fidget toy.silver & black wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2026 3:48 pmI got my PM 2 frim BHQ today. Thanks for nothing. Please refrain from commenting on anything I post in the future. I'll return the favor.SSD_777 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 7:47 amTry cutting something with it. I expect that when I depress the compression lock that the blade will at least move without being forced to do so. I shouldn't be able to place the blade anywhere in it's travel and have it stay there when the lock is depressed. I'm not sure why this is such a hard thing to understand???
