Here is the Police that STR waved for me. First, it had to be modified for tip-up carry. For that, I sent it to Chase Axin. But it was STR that did the wave and the bead blasting of the flat of the blade.

He also made the "low rider" clip. It is shown as it arrived to me, with the clip on the left side. STR knows I am a southpaw. Since then, I have swapped the clip to the right side for a lefty pikal draw from my left front pocket.

I've been waving for a couple of years now with an Emerson Comander. I recently purchased a Delica Wave that has replaced the Emerson in my EDC rotation. Nice Knife

This dealer is based out of Texas, so w/ first class mail I received the item extremely fast...think if I had use priority mail... :)

Since spydieguys.com is an authorized dealer, I guess one could say I have a dealer. The "buy it now" prices were slightly high though...

They are awsome , I have a waved D4 . Would be all over a waved Police model , with some kind of texturing on the handle .

One should not believe everything that is written. It´s a WE3 shown with the sheat on the pic above. The producer of this sheats named it wrong on his website. Besides for me the sheats simply look too tactical, very much like dressed up for fighting. Especially the WD4 which for me so far is the best knife ever for inconspicuous EDC/EDU doesn´t have to be carried this way. If you do this you draw the attention to it as a weapon which is politely said not necessary in my eyes. Heck, one would even make a steel pencil look like a weapon with those sheats. :rolleyes: If I would use such a carry option it would only be for a fixed blade like a Ronin, Perrin, Temperance or Moran, that´s for sure.

By the way, I read on a paper that came with one of my wavies one should not use it with his Armani slacks and Steve also described the issue. I noticed around the wave hooks it was rather edgy and I trimmed one of my WD4s. It seems to be rather friendly to pants now. If the hook doesn´t have sharpe edges it hardly can destroy trousers. It could be quite rounded from the beginning on without losing it´s function or am I wrong here?

I've never heard it called that, however since it uses the Endura III handle, maybe it is..


If that is the case and you know that for an absolute fact,, then I will change the caption and make the correction, because it can be confusing for some.

The knife in the picture above is the SDF version of the Waved Endura.

As far as it being "too tactical"

Yes for some people like yourself, maybe it is.

The Speed Dialer was designed to be used as a Deployment system for both Concealed and non concealed applications.

Just because it was designed to be "tactical", doesn't mean it has to be used "tactical". The Wave feature itself is of a "tactical" nature

One of my clients that uses my Speed Dialer system is a truck driver. Spends alot of time in his truck. The Speed Dialer gives him full access of the knife while still allowing him to exploit to "Wave" feature of his Delica W4 in both the Mercharness and neck rig configuration.

So "tactical" or not "tactical" the Speed Dialer is merely a system to open the knife. Not for everyone thats for sure,, however thats why the make Vanilla, Chocolate,and Strawberry Ice cream.

Thanks and if you could provide clarification of that particular models designation,, I would appreciate that Greatly..

BTW...

If you have a Steel Pencil, I can make a sheath for that as well.. :)

Sorry, Eric, don´t bother too much about my posting. Your sheats look well thought in design and carry options and also look well made. There probably is a market for them as you already mentioned. One like me who not want to look like dressed for war doesn´t have to wear e.g. the WD4 in a sheat. Nevertheless I would sometimes like to use such sheats if only I would not have to fear indirect legal consequences. So part of my first posting is anger about the legal system. Another part is fear that my beloved WD4 and WE3 could become a more tactical touch than necessary. Maybe this is excessively cautious.

By the way, the models desgination WD4, WE4 and WE3 is only based on lazyness. :D The right names which you can see in the Spyderco Catalog, should be Delica 4 Wave, Endura 4 Wave and Endura 3 Wave. But be sure nearly everyone will understand the short names, some sooner, others later. May you sell many of your deployment systems.

All I can say about Eric's work is: FANTASTIC!

I've got mine a few weeks ago, and it is working very well! Tactical or not, it's made to deploy the Endura or Delica fast and that's just what it will do, with great reliability!!

The Wave is what led me to the Endura--I love my WD4 but the blade seems just a bit short (I don't notice this with the standard (un-Waved) Delica, though), whereas the WE4 seems 'just right'.

And I believe there is a 'belt-fed' Speed Dialer in my future. While I generally don't have much use for sheaths for folding knives, this looks like a great way to carry the WE4. Plus Eric does great work.

JB, I think rounding the hook might destroy the efficacy of the Wave's most important secondary function--opening beer bottles. I ain't so worried about my pants as I am being able to open my beer....

Amen. because after you remove the bottle cap you can flaten, and fold it, for use as a pocket guard for those armani slacks. but i wouldnt know most of my clothes are army-ni :) :) :D :D :spyder: :spyder:

I've carried a waved Emerson Commander for about five years now and love the wave. I'm getting ready to order a waved Endura to carry and let the Commander rest for a while. Just be careful what you're wearing when you practice drawing the knife. I know a guy that sliced up a very nice suit coat by accident.
