Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
five manix folders and none in the original size?
I'd start there.
I'd start there.
Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
Nice collection there. It looks to me like you need to try out a serrated edge Spyderco. My personal recommendation would be the Chaparral LW SE. You can get it for about $125 most places.
I bought this knife on whim after hearing about it on this forum. When it first arrived I almost returned it because it was much smaller than I expected. But it's easily become my favorite EDC knife. It's a beautiful slicer, it truly disappears into the pocket, but it's still enough blade for most things. The stopping pin on the back lock is great; it's the best back lock I've ever handled.
The other thing is that it's by far the best fit and finish of any Spyderco I own.

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
I really like it. It feels much more "premium" than the back locks on the seki models, which I love, by the way. The action is very smooth, and there's zero lock rock on it and no side to side play at all. Some people have complained that the lockbar is too thin and can be uncomfortable too depress, but that hasn't been my experience and I'm an office worker, so it's not as if my hands are tough or calloused.Good suggestion! How do you like the lock on Chaparral?
Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
Something old school and discontinued, Vivi’s recommendation is perfect!
Something serrated, the Pacific Salt is a good start, workhorse!
Lil’ Temperance K390.
Leafjumper in serrated K390.
I love my Lil’ Native serrated backlock.
A Stretch, any Stretch?
Find a Gayle Bradley 1.
I don’t own one but a Bodacious.
And lastly, a Military.

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
I see seven available spots for more Spydies.
Definitely something else from Taiwan though. The Kapara would fit into your collection well.

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
Based on your list, here's what I came up with, in no particular order:
Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2 - Liner lock. Good stout user of a knife.
AWT scales for your G10 Manix - Lighter. Still sturdy.
Spyderco Chaparral C152SGY - Excellent EDC backlock.
Spypderco Stretch 2 - Mid-size backlock. Drop-point VG-10 or Straight-Spine K390.
Spyderco Roadie XL - Excellent EDC slipjoint. Easy to open.
Benchmade Bugout 535BK-4 - Excellent EDC cross-bar lock. Still the best.
Pro-Tech Malibu or TR-3 Integrity - Button-lock. Fidgety fun.

Gayle Bradley 2 while you still can
Chaparral is pocket perfection
Bugout, obviously
Sage1 while you still can if you like the Sage. It's the best one
What is an Endura Rodeo? No Delica? No Dragonfly?
Gotta checkout the Bodacious

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
Why would you have that many knives and think you need to add one more?
Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
If this is about trying out (for you) new aspects concerning Spydercos I´d say:
- Another vote for the Chaparral SE: Imo perfect small knife with reasonable, not too thick blade stock, great fit and finish, bomb proof lock up and a real slicing machine - and you have only one backlock knife and non (?) serrated ones anyway...
- Generally more SE Spydies: I´d highly recommend the Endela SE, if you can still find it in K390, or the Stretch XL SE
- Linerless Seki Salts: Amazing examples for the "art of knife designing" by being so superlight and simple, but still strong and very capable. Salt 2 or Pacific Salt, if you ask me of course serrated. H2 if you want an extreme sturdy blade and tip (still great cutters due to the hollow grind), LC200N if you´re looking for the best "sliciness"
- Perhaps Military 1 for experiencing a great linerlock and its pros in operation and safety on a knife with finger choil.
Also, your already really nice line up just for my taste could have more larger knives added anyway.

Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
I see you have both some salts and some tool steels, so the steel variety is covered.
I see some Microjimbos, so you've got a couple of small ones, but those are a very specific knife. I don't see any other small knives, nor any larger knives, save for the Endura, which looks like your only backlock.
Completely missing from your collection is the Native family, which consists of the Lil' Native, Native 5, Native Chief, Shaman, Bodacious, and Edgerati. These knives all share the smooth back design. The Shaman, Bodacious and Edgerati all share the same basic liner platform, and are roughly the same size (larger). The Bodacious deviates the furthest from the ergonomic lines of the rest of the Native family, to it's detriment (IMO, YMMV). I do prefer the longer edge, however.
Ideally, a Native 5 could be a good candidate. If you are looking for the most variety, a serrated Native Chief would give you the most bang-for-your-buck when it comes to what you are missing, but the LW version of the Chief tends to draw more criticism for it's overall feel. It makes up ground in weight, unless balance is really important.
Some basic questions would be - do you want vanilla, or are you looking for something more exotic and different? Are you trying to stay within a certain size range? Price range? I would pay attention to what Mushroom says, as his collection is large and diverse. While mine pales in comparison, I do have access to the Factory Outlet which means I am in the position to handle whichever Spyderco and try them out and I've handled most. Most memorable ones for me that are not on your list are: Lil' Native (brilliant small knife), Shaman Salt, Edgerati, Native 5, UKPK, Stretch 2, Police 4, McBee, Slym, Spydiechef, Enuff 2, Jumpmaster 2, and Swick. The new S90V Bodacious has texture on the scales, so I can finally recommend a Bodacious. Nice knife.
You already have some winners. Look at the smooth back Native family. Not too many ways to go wrong here.

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
Chaparral SE + a Native or two in your favorite steel. Get the 15v while you still can, or Maxamet, Crucarta, Magnacut, carbon fiber S90V are all great.
Military/PM2/P3 Native Chief/Native GB2 DF2 PITS Chaparral Tasman Salt 2 SE Caribbean SF SE SpydieChef Swayback Manix2 Sage 1 SSS S2XL G10
Re: Current line-up, what should I add?
Plus 1 to kobold's recs, but I'd go with the Chap in Birdseye Maple PE unless you know you want SE in a smaller blade. The Native 5 Fluted CF S90V would give you some S90V steel in the collection, but the N5 LW is available in a lot of steels including Maxamet. Both the the Chap and the N5 CF S90V would serve as a great dress knife.
I'd also add a "Little Big Knife" like the DragonFly 2 or the Lil' Native. Lots of choices for steels on both.

Native 5 Lw a must have. Maxamet or LC200N or both

Thanks for the detailed insights! If I’m being honest fidget factor ranks highly for me, then intended use (for example love the ranching story behind the BM Osborne even if mine will never see use on a ranch) and then how special it is (like the limited supply of 15v)Red Leader wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 10:05 pmI see you have both some salts and some tool steels, so the steel variety is covered.
