Molds already exits, so why not add a new blade shape to this tank of a knife? Who's in? :)

I don't know if it's possible to fit in without collision with bushing.

I would rather like to see another run of G-10 variant, with cruwear, and rhino style blade.
Current collection: Lil Temperance G10, Shaman, Lil Native, Massad Ayoob cruwear, Smock, Street Beat, Street Bowie, Para 3, PM2 purple G10 cruwear, Canis, Rhino, Endura 4 K390, Watu, Kapara, Amalgam, Sliverax, Police 4 se K390, Police 4 pe K390, Khukuri, Barong, Ulize, Microjimbo, Smock M4, Lil Temperance 3 K390, Bodacious PE S30V, Lil' Temperance 3 SE, JD Smith PE ATS-34.

You're not likely to find a bigger fan of the LT3 and wharncliffes around these parts than me, but as with @Michal O's response, I think I'd rather the next LT3 variant (if we ever get one) be one in a different steel (a Salt version in MagnaCut would be my preference) but with the standard leaf-shaped blade or even the old rhino blade shape. I believe the upward sweep of the LT's blade was a deliberate design choice by Sal meant to serve his intention that the folder be usable in the pikal grip as well as the more conventional grip (the LT was originally envisioned as a compact, SD-oriented folder). Radically veering away from that, I think, fundamentally changes the functional details of the knife in this regard into something else entirely as it drops the tip of the blade by a very significant degree. I'm not dismissing the idea of putting a wharncliffe blade on the LT3 platform (it's an interesting notion and I'd buy one for sure if Spyderco ever made it!), I just think it would no longer be an LT3 as far as the spirit of Sal's original purpose-driven design.

All that said, I think the discontinued and under-appreciated RockJumper comes pretty close to being a wharncliffe version of the LT3. It's a backlock and not a compression lock, yes, and its handle isn't quite as broad as the LT3's and is a bit longer, but the general profile is close in terms of the swells and curves of the handle.

It might not look that way initially in the pic below...

... but they line up pretty well if I overlay one over the other:

Despite being discontinued for at least a couple of years now, the RockJumper can still be found selling for the MAP or even less at some authorized retailers, if you want to try it out.

I know it has a functional reason for being there, but I hope they leave off the divot in the handle on the next iteration. Makes it harder in and out of pocket. Use the Shaman/ Bodacious/ Edgerati clip for simplicity and aftermarket compatibility.

I prefer the leaf shape but am interested in a warnie LT3.

I stand to be corrected, but I believe the divot was to quickly pinch the knife handle between the index finger and thumb amd spin the knife around into a reverse grip, and visa-versa.

I like wharncliffes a lot, but I'd much rather see a PD#1 or Spy27 SE sprint. I know Sal has said keeping this knife around is more of a passion project and the MAP price got reduced last year to try and inspire more sales. I doubt they'll invest any more into the design than they already have, but one can dream. The SE version has the same amazing serrations the Caribbean had, along with very similar ergos. It would be such a treat to see the LT3 SE get a couple of sprint steels that are already kicking around Seki.

That's also my understanding. But how many people are using the knife spinny-spinny-slashy-stabby vs as an incredible everyday cutting tool? I'd rather loose the specialized adaptation and improve the everyday utility. A wharncliffe blade would keep with the utility aspects of the design more than with the LT3's MBC heritage.
