Lost knives - living the hypothetical

#1

Post by hobbyist »

My knife case with about 30 knives in it was very likely caught up in a donation run. Luckily I had a handful of knives “in use” that weren’t in the case, so I still have them:

* Delicas: M390 and K390
* Dragonflies: H1 SE and K390 WC
* Stretch 2 XL SE
* Manbug Leaf SE
* A Frankenstein Para 3 I made with a yellow salt handle but a DLC SE BD1N blade

Putting aside the obvious being (VERY) mad that I probably lost the knives, I’m realizing I’m generally ok with what I have left.

So let's hear of some of the knives that are still in that case?

Sorry for your loss, I'd be beside myself!

About 8 delicas or salt 2s (various exclusives/steels), about 6 dragonflies (various exclusives/steel), a couple endelas, a pacific salt, a couple para 3s (magnacut, spy27, bd1n), two sage 5s (magnacut and s30v), a sage 6, a m390 smock, catcherman, a couple stretches, a couple lil natives, native 5, a couple lady bugs and man bugs. Feel like a couple others I can’t remember.

Oh man, I'm sorry you had to lose all that. But props to you for appreciating what you have left, that's a very even-tempered and mature way to look at things.

Husqvarna makes a very nice universal key to open any locked door on most buildings. I prefer the 14" as it really hits the goldilocks zone for just about any task. Stihl and Echo also make universal keys in a few sizes depending on your key budget, but Huskys really can take the most punishment.

I am sorry that you lost all of those knives.

With recent deaths of my mother's partner and my mother, I have made (and will continue to make) quite a few car-load runs to Goodwill. I always take everything out of the vehicle, then load it with items to be donated. Then when I get to the drop off location I allow staff to take the items out of the car.

I’ve only lost one. It was a mini mariner I purchased when I bought two Mariners for work in the early ‘90’s. The mini was on my car key chain. I picked up my girlfriend (now my wife of 27 years), went to her sister & brother-in-law’s house. They decided to drive to dinner. Somewhere between their house and getting home from the restaurant they disappeared. I called the restaurant and nothing. Still miss that little cutie to this day.

Wish I could find another one at a descent price.
