Though my answer here was Endela SE in VG10:
If the SE Endura FINALLY would come in (only or also) ffg and with the Endela serration pattern that would definitely be my "new" answer.
/ Generally I am really surprised (positively!) how often the Endela (for most PE I guess) got mentioned here already (I know you said Endura).
And I get it, when it comes to real, no nonsense EDC use a good backlock ,chamfered FRN roomy handle and light, slim carry but sturdy construction are hard to beat imo (just my 2c of course)
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Delica Wharncliffe without a doubt.

GB2 and Manix 2! The size and blade shape make these great for my daily use. Manix 2 Crucarta is already an "evergreen" for me.

PM2 CruCarta & Native 5, lately the Salt PE or S90V Fluted CF, but expect the soon-to-arive CruCarta will take first position.

Stretch2 xl serrated. Daily for work for about 8 months. It's a lightweight pocket saw and has done very well on construction sites. My boss was amazed how fast and easy it cuts plastic banding on lifts of lumber. The frn sticks in my pocket much better than g10 too. Darn good knife

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
The Atlantic Salt. I almost never carry it outside of work but at work it’s in my pocket all the time, one in PE LC200n for clean and precise work and one in SE H2 for dirty and emergency work.
Outside of work, I’m still waiting for an Endela Salt to become the one I always circle back to. Right now it’s the Salt 2 but I prefer the ergos of the Endela. The one that I have gets an outsize amount of pocket time compared to my other non-salt knives.

If you are new to Spyderco, this thread is turning out to be a great way to pick some models to start with and try out.OV1kenobi wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:05 pmAs to the thread question, I have only come to appreciate Spydercos since late 2023.
I am going through a honeymoon phase right now carrying and trying several different models and variants of the same model in a few cases. Really thinking about it, I have probably carried a Delica 4 PE in VG-10 more than any other.
I still consider myself new as well even though my oldest Spyderco is 20 years old.
Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
The Delica. It's the knife I will grab when I can't decide what to carry. Lately I almost have to talk myself into carrying something else.

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
You can't go wrong with the Delica IMO. I actually prefer the Gen1 over the others but I want to keep my molded clip ones pristine so it's Delica 4 that gets pocket time.

Here's samples of my Delicas from all four generations :)

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
I always carry a 5th pocket knife, but only occasionally anything bigger--my state sucks.
I started with a Gerber LST, which I carried for many years until a tragic, jury duty incident where it was confiscated. I replaced it with a Dragonfly 2, which I've carried for years. I've tried a number of other small knives, but I keep coming back to the DF2. I now have four of them, and my favorite is a Wharncliffe in K390. Rising quickly in my appreciation is a Lil Native in 10V (acts very similar to K390), G10 scales replaced by micarta, pocket clip removed. The Lil Native feels so much better in hand, but it still can't disappear in pocket the way a DF2 does.

Oldest: 1974 Buck 110.
Newest: Li’l Native, CPM 15V, G10, Backlock
SE models: Dragonfly 2 Salt, Lil Native, Chaparral, Salt 2, Byrd Hawkbill 2, LeafJumper K390, Mule MT46S, Temperance CruWear
Knives owned: Too many, yet always finding another.
Added a ceramic mug, "The Edge is a Ghost". Great mug!

A caly or calypso. I’m really into Sal glessers design style, and the Caly family incorporates all of sals most personal design preferences into an edc folding knife design, and they’re also features that spyderco has utilized the most throughout their in house catalog, like mid-backlock, leaf shape blade, thumb ramp, choil, handle swell, relatively slim and compact sized, Japanese made. Specifically moki made so you get that high end custom like Japanese manufacturing. Love how they function and perform, will always be my favorite knives.
Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
You fellows with the state size restrictions really do live in a different world lol, man I feel for ya'... I want a 4" blade or longer lol. Must have for edc, now I am guilty of carrying more than one knife at a time also, just say'n...
If I am thinking compression lock style for the day, it's a M2, otherwise it's a backlock and more times than not the Police4, I do like my Endura4 's but usually carry them at the same time as one of the other two...
My Endura4 's have a small finger ring guard I put on them and they make a great glass breaker. Not to forget my near enough 4" blade they pack all nice and neet in the handle lol.
So, guess what I am trying to do here is stir the pot lol
You guys have this all wrong lol. You need bigger lol...
Now, let the pot boil over lol
Just fun'n with you fellows this cold Friday, I have been sharpening all my drill bits the last couple days here, since it's been cold and nasty outside. Getting a little restless inside lol. You guys have a great weekend and go buy you a bigger knife :)

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
Interesting take, as I always lean towards smaller items especially that I'm going to carry. Granted, I don't need a knife for work daily and could survive the day without a blade, but I just don't like being knifeless! I've tried bigger knives like the Pac Salt, but for everyday stuff it felt like overkill for my needs. Someone once said that carrying a bigger knife was like going from a small car to a full size truck. Once you do you can't fathom how you got by with the former. I haven't found that to be the case personally, but I love how folks different needs, situations, and preferences influence their daily carry. Fun stuff.Jeb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:45 pmYou fellows with the state size restrictions really do live in a different world lol, man I feel for ya'... I want a 4" blade or longer lol. Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
These days, when I head out the door, 90% of the time I have either a Yojimbo 2 or a Lil' Temperance 3 (either a Lightweight or the original G10 version) in my pocket.
I've had extended periods where I've carried other models just to switch things up & I do have other models in regular work rotation (the PM2 & Para 3 being the most notable ones), but the Yo2 & LT3/LT3LW have been the constants for the last 4 years or so.

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
For me it is the K390 Police and Spydiechef.
Although not very “old” models, I’ve used, carried and sharpened them A LOT.
Lotsa fancier knives out there, and these two workhorses are looking tired, but they work for me, my hands and my needs like no other knives.

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
Yeah man, the idea of having my pocket knife choice being restricted by state laws or employer policy is absolutely wild to me.
I can carry a 5.5" bladed Recon XL to work and nobody cares. If anyone ever commented on its size I'd just ask if they'd prefer I break down cardboard with my 10" chef knife instead
I wish Spyderco explored 4.5"-5" bladed folder designs more. I understand they sell poorly compared to the 800th variation of one of their many 3" models, but I hate having to rely on other companies to fill that niche. I really like my Catcherman, but something a bit more rugged for EDC would be nice.
