Re: Spyderco C09 CoPilot Varieties
Sold for $400 or asking $400? People can ask whatever they want, but asking and getting are sometimes too very different things.

Re: Spyderco C09 CoPilot Varieties
Thanks for the revived internet. Not sure what early ones are selling for these days. New-old-Stock brass-lined CoPilits we’re bringing up to around $150 last time I checked.

Re: Bringing back the Co Pilot
Hi Co Pilot, Peter and I are working on a new design. sal Sal: My only suggestions for new modifications to the C09 Copilot would be to choose handle materials and blade steel that will make the knife as affordable as possible keep it within the reach of most people who want to experience it. I had...

Re: Bringing back the Co Pilot
I have a drawing started and began mods and just too busy on other stuff. Thanx for the "Prod". I'll pull it out this weekend. sal This is very exciting to hear, Sal. We’ve got an entire generation of folks since the last CoPilot Sprint Run who have never experienced the knife. If there i...

go big or go home! Deneen Pottery. These two are the camper size - 14oz. https://i.imgur.com/XroRzEq.png https://i.imgur.com/tvfAsD5.jpg I'll second this and hope that Spyderco seriously considers having Deneen Pottery in St. Paul, Minnesota, produce these mugs. Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Old favorite here with me today: C41SBBK Native. Purchased this new in about 2007. Distinctly remember it was the first Spyderco I ever owned that had the bug logo etched onto the blade. Lots of changes to the Native since I bought this one, but I still prefer the old style. 8B19B626-1152-4ACD-85D0-...

Re: 701 Profile Stone Instructions - download here
Interesting you mention the 702 Profiles>> they are a smaller version of the 701 Profiles but extremely handy. I kept mine over the years and I do find uses for my 702 Profiles from time to time. I wish Spyderco would bring both of them back and with more grit selections. Years ago I had the good f...

Re: Spyderco coffee mug
We're working on two. The first one will be very much like the original 12 oz coffee mugs we made years ago. The second one is an oddball and I can't say anything about it. Both will more than likely be consumer direct to keep the cost down. Then we'll go from there. sal Need to make one that is a ...

That is absolutely perfect! Just what I was looking for! Thank you!Evil D wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 9:19 amThere's the "compendium" thread that I think is on the first page, lots of good sharpening info there.
My thoughts are pretty well summed up here.

Re: Finally!! The Portable Hand!
Rich: I will bet that you worked hard to track down these Portable Hands. As you know, they are a little hard to come by. I just found a post on another thread from back in 2008 and at that time I wrote that I had been looking for one for "quite some time". I still haven't found one, so th...

Re: Knife monogamy is a satisfying yet boring life
Once I learned about sharpening them and how to make them slice without snagging, it opened the door to a whole new world of performance that's way beyond anything I've experienced with PE At the risk of sounding totally incompetent, might you be able to point me to anything you have previously pos...

Re: Early Sharpmaker
CoPilot, I saw that sharpener on Ebay and was tempted to bid on it but I didn't know anything about how it worked, how complete it was, or how good it was at sharpening. I'd never seen anything like it before. So I didn't bid. To tell you the truth I'm a little embarassed that I didn't recognize wh...

Thanks Rich!
Some good close up detail pics of the various components (clips, arms, etc) would be great, too. I'd love to understand how those circlips function. Do they just hold the alligator clips to the rod arms?

Re: Do you always use grease on your knives or is something less viscous OK to?
Shades of the resurrection of the dead! This is a 6 year old thread. I guess it is still relevant. I have never, ever heard of oil ruining the brass on a knife. Blood, yes. Sweat, yes. Oil, never. There might be some oil out there that has additives that would react with the brass, but I do not kno...

Re: Spyderco C09 CoPilot Varieties
I talked earlier in this thread (see the fourth post on pg 1 with photographs illustrating the spring differences ) about the Spyderco's use of an "integral backspacer and lockspring" that occurred with the C09 CoPilot. Sal has referred to this integral unit as the "split spring"...
