Serpents Run Customs Goon
Serpents Run Customs Goon
So I'm cruising through some social media and I see this knife company about to drop their new model with what looks to be a pretty darn close representation of the Byrd opening hole. Now I realize the patent has probably expired but there's been a level of respect in the industry concerning what Sal (and Eric?) have done over the years. Are these guys just using this time proven design on their own or did they at least reach out and at least get a blessing before going forward?

There is no patent, but the comet-shaped hole is a registered trademark of Spyderco, Inc. which does NOT expire. I'm not a legal expert, but that looks close enough to warrant investigation.
