Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale!

Just don't expect too many Sprints and dealer exclusives, most of the sale items are regular production knives. Not saying that there hasn't been any Sprint/exclusive sold the last two times around, but those have been few and far between compared to the majority of seconds on sale. I think a few forum members scored a few high value knives like the Paysan though.

They had quite a few Paysans at the last seconds sale. I didn’t see any visual flaws. Everyone I tried had the worst lock stick I’ve ever felt.

That's the idea I made myself of it too. Considering that there is no box for each knife I wouldn't want it too be a 2nds of a highly priced model since mine will have to travel a good distance ! Last time the knives banged against each other pretty good. Poor Efficient and clipitool had to get a good home made refinish

For now my strategy is : If there is enough knives I want in the main selection I'll keep myself to it, otherwise I'll try a box.

What does everyone think worth it? $250 would get a lot of nice 2nd knives you know you would want. As an example last online sale had a Maxamet Native 5 for $79 and a S30V Shaman for $95.

I will hope for a a Native Chief M390 or a 4V anything and end up with a Zomeblue Dragonfly… haha.

Everything was really picked over last year when I finally found out about it. They did have maxamet pm2’s for $79.

Yes, they had lots of Maxamet PM2 and Para 3 the last 2 online seconds sale. Just be aware that some have reported getting warped blades, an unfortunate occurrence in the production of Maxamet knives from what I've read here. Fortunate to have my copies from the sale straight and blemish free.

I'll be checking this out. Scored some nice deals last time I participated in an online seconds sale, and in fact am carrying one of those knives I bought today! (DLC Military)

Any guesses as to what a $150 or $250 Mystery Box may contain? Just the 2 or 3 items mentioned, or merch, sharpening gear, etc?

In the Basic Box ($150) it is mentioned that it is 2 knives, “at least one” is a “highly sought after model”. What do you think this could mean?

I would expect to see any sprint/exclusive released in the past 6-12 months. Some examples you might see are:

Knife Joy Manix 2 new $140
St. Nicks Godard new $125
Bluezome Dragonfly/Delica new $105+
REC PM3 Scorpion new $180
Etc.

So at $250 that’s about $82 per knife. Not a bad deal but they are seconds.

I can’t find the post again but they mentioned the “other” knife would be something uncommon from the regular sale. No idea what what means but maybe something they have very few of and just throw in there. It could be a really cool knife.

It will be a tough call, the box will be a ton of fun but for the same money you could get 2-3 knives you know you want.

Never thought of 15V… imagine landing a 15V Shaman in you box… it would be pretty awesome.

Except for a little a little pin prick in the middle of the blade I can't find anything else wrong with my Paysan. No lock stick whatsover. I've got a lot of great deals on Spyderco knives in the past few years but the Paysan was by far the best
