Has anyone else thought that a full tang fixed blade,5 1/2 in blade,3/16 thick, general shape of the Military with G10 or canvas micarta scales and a kydex sheath would be about the perfect fixed blade?

That would depend on what it would be "perfect" for.

For all-around utility knife duties, yes, it would be very good.

For chopping wood, building shelter, and other heavy activities, then I'd say it would be a bit light for the task.
