picked up a c55gpse starmate cpm440v steel. a c42 viele with ebony/silver wire inlay. and a c10p endura 2 ,with united states marshal etched on handle, got it from a friend of mine who is a us marshal. the viele and endura are probally safe queens, but the starmate may see some carry time ,cause i like cpm440v .anyone got any likes/dislikes on 440 cpmv?. my military has cpm440 and i carried it for about a year before retireing it, but you never know i may bring it back into service some day. too many knives and not enough pockets for them all to travel in..
? what does it all mean?

Yesterday I received a Chinook that has the CPM440V steel, and it seems like a very good steel, but it sure seems to have a very linear grain structure that is ALOT different than the VG-10 or 154CM that I'm used to.

Anyday is a good day at a gun show. Lots of toys to look at and a good excuse to drink some beer...BTW good haul on the knives.

My Native is CPM 440V, and I like this steel. Good edge retention, fairly easy to resharpen.
