has there been any discussion ever about giving the stretch 2 xl a "hunter" blade akin to its origins? i think a blade with this style might be an excellent hunting knife, but also work well as a rescue knife and work well for people in marine applications.
there is a history of spyderco salt knives having rounded tips. even something as subtle as the pacific salt is good, but the original stretch shape would be even better. it doesn't need to be as extreme as the assist though.
i've said a handful of times that the stretch could easily replace my trusty pacific salt if it came in all black (still waiting for this), but honestly, the stabby tip makes me more reluctant than the color. i'd love to see a slightly more rounded tip for emergency/marine use.
thoughts...?

Re: stretch 2 xl salt... rescue?
It would indeed be an excellent hunting knife in that configuration. I like a pointy hunting knife myself, so it's great for me as is, but I think more hunters might take to it with a blade shape closer to the OG's.
I like the stronger tip of the Pacific for a work/emergency/marine knife. When the H2 Stretch XL arrived, it occurred to me that it might be a slightly better knife with that dropped Pacific tip.
