Mule Team Boltaron Sheath

Well, that surprised me.
Yesterday I received notification that Boltaron sheaths were again available. Last night I put one in the cart, but didn't have my credit card handy. I went to pay this morning, but it was too late. Sold out.
Next time I'll have to strike a bit more quickly. I just didn't expect the sheaths to sell out quite so quickly.

- Kydex sheath makers for Mule knives available on eBay and Etsy. An option at least. I plan on going this route when I buy a Mule next month.
As I don't have the time or patience to deal with unavailable sheath and scales due to scalpers. And very limited quantities
- Mule knives sell out quickly and are resold at inflated prices.
- Original retail price is $60-$100, but scalpers sell for $300-$500
- Considering alternative Spyderco knife models like AEB-L VG Xeos or SPY27 CPM.
- Remaining blade steels for Mules such as VG Xeos and SPY27CPM do not offer significant improvements over 154CM or VG-10
- Frustrated with current knife availability But I guess beggars can't be choosers. I will buy a VG Xeos, AEB-L, or SPY27CPM next month from Spyderco website.
And the HIC is far too expensive for a fairly dull blade and delicate nature.

I understood the limited quantities and quick sellout of most Mule Team blades. I was just surprised how quickly the Boltaron sheath sold out.
I only learned about Mules late last year. And I agree with you, I refuse to pay the exorbitant resale prices by scalpers.
I'll have to look into a Kydex sheath. Thanks for the suggestion.

You are welcome. I seen some really nice stuff and some of it was a really good deal. I guess I will try the VG Xeos out next month since it is the most unpopular Mule currently and easily obtainable.

Hey Josh,
You might try calling the store. We're always making them and it's possible that the "sold out" wasn't correct. We make them in-house in the sheath department.

I will do on the third of next month Sal when I order my first mule. Likely in VG Xeos or AEB-L unless K294 or 19C27 become available.
I do like Boltaron material better than Kydex.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked again, but I still can’t find the standard Boltaron sheath. But the sheath for the straight spine Mule was still available.

Gotcha. My error. Sal had commented that we could call their store number as sometimes they have them in stock but not listed yet and order over phone

Okay, I had intended to call the Spyderco office this morning, but work got in my way. I then planned to try again tomorrow morning, but I just received notification that the Boltaron sheath was back in stock. I ordered one immediately. To anyone else who wants one:
Order quickly!!

CPM SPY27 is more like CPM S35VN. It’s a very good solid steel and might be slightly better than S35VN. It is definitely way better than 154CM. Maybe you meant it’s similar to CPM 154???
