Praise for the new G10 Bug line (Grasshopper)

I'm shocked by how good this knife is, and I really wish I had tried one sooner.

I actually bought the all stainless model a couple months ago and then liked it so much I decided to get the G10 too and I like it even more.

I really like having a large and small knife, especially at work where knives aren't exactly allowed. Opening a box with a Grasshopper is a lot less polarizing than with a Military.

I like the change to 12C27 steel, but I would still be so interested in a sprint in other steels. Maybe since China are working with M4 in the Tenacious we can hope for a M4 Grasshopper?

I know I'm probably in a super small minority here but if you're the type that carries a small knife on your keys I think you should consider it. I'm not finding that I miss the lock when comparing to a Ladybug, and I get far more use out of the extra edge length even though it's only about 1/4 inch more it makes a difference on such a small knife.

I also prefer how thin the Grasshopper is compared to a Ladybug/Manbug, it clumps a lot less with the rest of your keys. On a Ladybug I usually make a small lanyard just to make it less clumpy but I don't need to with a Grasshopper.

If that's not enough it actually has slightly more edge length than a Dragonfly which I think is pretty impressive.

Good post!👍🏻 I’ve liked these since I saw the G-10 versions. I don’t have one yet, mostly because I’m not sure I would use it very much. I like the overall design and the blade shape, I just keep prioritizing other knives over this one! Maybe someday!🙄

ED,

That is a nice clean setup man. I like your flat wire key ring too. Those you have to shop for. Just what is the gray item on there with the new knife and two keys?

Good write up! 👍

I have a couple of the G10 Bugs and a G10 Grasshopper that I won from Spyderco last year but I haven’t used them yet.

I’ll try swapping out the Ladybug on my keys for the Grasshopper to see how I like it.

It's an electronic key fob for entering my work.

The keyring is titanium, came with a nice simple titanium carabineer off Amazon.

I've wanted one of those G10 versions since I saw it in Reveal. Thanks for posting your positive opinions on the knife.
