What will Magnamax corrosion resistance look like?

Weโve all heard that magnamax will have wear resistance similar to K390 and toughness on par with S35VN. We know itโs stainless, but I am curious how stainless. I have not been able to find anything regarding that and was curious if anyone knew. Could we be dealing with salt levels of corrosion resistant, or something more along the lines of s30v, or any other stainless?

Larrin has said the production version from Erasteel will have similar corrosion resistance to MagnaCut.

If the wear resistance, toughness, and corrosion resistance properties of MagnaMax prove true in real world use, is there any application where a user would still be better served by MagnaCut?
I already have a handful of MagnaCut knives, and I just want to know if I should stop buying more and instead wait for MagnaMax.

MagnaCut is tougher and MagnaMax has more edge retention. They will have similar hardenability and corrosion resistance. One is not "better" than the other unless you have a specific goal in mind. MagnaMax will be close to where 10V is on this chart:

Thank you for the information, @Synov.
For my uses, perhaps MagnaCut would be more suited for larger fixed blades while MagnaMax would be more at home in folders.
I hope I am able to get one of the MagnaMax Mules for testing.

If corrosion resistance is not an issue, is there a reason to buy Magnamax when I already have enough knives in Maxamet?

If Maxamet isn't chipping in your use, probably not. But if you find yourself babying your knives, you should try something a bit tougher.

Thanks!
They are microconvexed to prevent exactly that.
