Does anyone know if the old original H1 Pacific Salt (not pacific salt 2) ran on washers? I get some conflicting info when trying to search this. Some say none, some say just 1, and a couple said 2 washers. Anybody know definitively?

I have a Tasman Salt 1 and it has no washers. As far as I know, none of the linerless Seki models use washers.

The original Salts & Pacific Salts had no washers. Or, rather they had the “integral washers” that were molded into the FRN handles.

What do we think about that? It seems to me that the wear items on pocket knives are:
1. Blade edge - we get to sharpen it!
2. Clip - easily replaced if damaged
3. Pivot surfaces - if washers, can be replaced; washerless...?

doesn't make for the most buttery smooth action, but it does make the knife much simpler to take apart and re-assemble. never been an issue for me.
those first gen pacific salt clips were nice. they never came loose, ever, for me. no tiny screws to lose or need to carry special bits for. three screw clips seem to always work themselves loose if I forget to loctite them, while the single barrel bolt never did, loctite or not.

I agree. The barrel bolt clip is simple genius. One big bolt and a shallow mortise is all it takes, and no need for metal inserts to catch screw threads.
