New TUFF Cru-wear
Good evening everyone,
I just received this new DLT Exclusive TUFF from Country Knives and I must say that I am totally smitten with it. My only concern is that my blade shows a number (113V) and every picture that I've seen online of this knife the number is absent.
Now, When I went to the Country Knives website and saw the knife, it had the same number as the knife that I received, which is pretty cool.
So, is this knife legit? What is the significance of the number? Did Country Knives buy this blade as over-run?
Thank you all for any info!
I'll post pics later, if needed.

It's from a Spyderco Collector Club.

Thanks for the reply. Why is it that I don't see numbers on the other knives? I mean, even the DLT ones don;t show a number on the knives.

The 113V on the blade means that it was originally designated to a collector club member. There's different tiers of collector club but they're all pretty serious expense wise. One of the tiers will give you not just any new model but any sprints and exclusives. Basically that's not a DLT knife, and likely never passed through their hands. It's an extra of the production run of DLT's order that was designated to a collector club member, whoever member 113 would be.

Many dealers are also collector club members that sell off the knives they don't want. There's different tiers. One of them you're buying every new Spyderco that comes out the factory door. Another is base models only, no variants

Nice knife and great info at that link. I'm pretty jazzed with this knife. I really like the finish on the blade. Also, the Spydie hole is probably the best finished of all of my knives. No chipping nails here!8th_Note wrote: ↑Sun Jul 27, 2025 11:34 amI have a Lil Native with a collector club number.raygixxer89 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 9:33 pmGood evening everyone,

Yep!
I'm pretty sure there's several dealers who are CC members

Ah, ok. Thanks for that information. I reas the informative link posted but still didn't understand why I was able to buy this knife, lol.Fastidiotus wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 10:55 pmThe 113V on the blade means that it was originally designated to a collector club member. Because the collector club member didn't want the knife?raygixxer89 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 7:17 pmAh, ok. Thanks for that information. Re: New TUFF Cru-wear
Several knife vendors “host” CC subscriptions. Some of these are for CC members that use that vendor to receive their new knives since Spyderco doesn’t ship CC knives to subscription holders directly. Some of these vendors CC subscriptions are not tied to a particular CC member and those vendors just put those CC-labeled knives into their general stock and it’s a roll of the dice which random customer would receive it. Hope that helps, Radioactive

Re: New TUFF Cru-wear
Weird little caveat about that. Collectors Club knives are not sold direct to consumer. Without getting too much into the weeds, retailers kind of act as a "middle man" for Spyderco and collectors club members. Collector club members sign up for the club through a retailer of their choice. So when a collectors club member doesn't want a particular knife, they have multiple options, but one is to sell it back to the retailer for them to sell as their own.raygixxer89 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 7:17 pmAh, ok. Or, it’s possible the retailer you purchased from is the original owner of that collector's club number and chose to sell it. @N. Brian Huegel, the owner of Country Knives, might be able to confirm?
Edit: Radioactive spyder also explained it succinctly.
