Man, really tough week for some icons. Really feel for those in their late 40's-mid 50's that probably looked up idolizing Ozzy and Hulk.

I wasn't a Hulk Hogan fan, but this is surprising. R.I.P.

Unless you die young we're pretty much all doomed to watch our heroes die. It's a bummer for sure.

Hulk Hogan. He lived larger than most.

I would have thought that he had excellent healthcare, but maybe he avoided doctors.

Man or woman, if you are over 40 go get a checkup on your heart, it could save your life.

Have your doctor give you
- blood tests
- echo on heart, look at the valves and thickening of the heart tissue
- stress treadmill to see how your heart works under a slight load

In the 80s, I preferred Randy Savage, but I was a huge fan of Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the NWO in WCW.

Rest in Peace.

When I was a young kid in the 80’s we didn’t yet have cable TV, and few of my friends had either, but still every kid my age knew who Hulk Hogan was. Must have made quite an impression to establish that name recognition. I haven’t heard or seen anything about the Hulk since probably the late 80’s and still remember him vividly.
You’d had to be a marketing genius to perform something similar in today’s media landscape.

I will never ever forget the time when Hulk Hogan took Andre The Giant and did an over the head body slam on him in Wrestlemania III. Yeah I do realize that pro wrestling is as fake as the government>> but you can't fake what he did that night. You can't fake picking up a 500+ pound man and slamming him. That had to be rough on both contestants.

That was truly the "Good Old Days" of WWF Wrestling. I truly hope Mr. Terry Bolea made it to heaven.

When I saw this movie in the theater was the first time I saw Hulk Hogan, although I don't think he adopted the name of Hulk Hogan until later. I was never a big Hogan wrestling fan, because I was living overseas doing other stuff during his heyday in the WWF, and still interested in other things when he jumped to WCW. I didn't start watching wrestling again until the Attitude Era (late '90s), which was after Hogan's era.

No doubt, when he was at his peak, he was amplified on the mic.

OK, thanks. I haven't seen Rocky 3 since 1982, and hadn't read the end credits. Also, I had watched a Hulk Hogan tribute a few days ago that said he had adopted the Hulk Hogan name and character sometime after that. Obviously, I was misinformed on that.

I wasn't one of those anti-Hoganers, just wasn't a wrestling fan during the time of his peak popularity. I had watched wrestling from 1972 - '73 (long before his era), then didn't start watching it again until around 1998 or '99 (aftter his peak era), even though he was still active at the time.

It's funny how in wrestling, men who are 6' 7" are billed as nearly 7' tall. At his peak, Hulk Hogan was a legit 6' 7", though he later lost some inches in height due to all of the back surgeries he underwent. Sylvester Stallone in real life was relatively short; he's listed as 5' 10" tall; but knowing how male celebrities' heights are always exaggerated, he's probably more like 5' 8" barefoot which, along with the camera angles, made the height differential even more dramatic.

Jim, if Hogan at his peak of strength and stamina in his career took on a MMA and wrestler guy like Butterbean, who would likely win?

Butterbean was listed as weighing over 300 pounds:

You know all of that stuff is fake right?

The matches are predetermined who the winners will be.

That is true and they use tricks but it is still two huge people slamming at each other like trucks right?
