Just ordered a serrated k390 endela , any suggestions on how to sharpen it after I put some hard use on it, I have my process & tools for vg10 serrated, but I think K390 serrated will be a different beast? Does it have to have diamond equipment?

Use a Sharpmaker with CBN rods. K390 just takes a little more work, but I don't have any issues keeping my SE K390 sharp using the method Sal teaches in the product video for the Sharpmaker.

What Jay said.
Generally, I use the regular Sharpmaker rods because they're gentler on the serrations. Occasionally I'll use the diamond rods, but they're rather aggressive.

I don't use Sal's method. Rather than hold the blade vertically, on the ground side, I tip the blade to match the factory grind. On the flat side, I tip the blade just a skosh past the factory grind so I'm still hitting the edge, but not scratching up the whole side of the blade.

I'm holding the blade vertically on the ground side, but sharpen the back side the same way as you do.

I just needed the CBN rods once to repair a small chip, other than that - as you said - the brown and white stones are sufficient to keep K390 SE sharp.

Yes, brown and white rods for maintenance, diamond or CBN for damage repair and reprofiling.

This is the way.

Also the more you stay on top of touchups the less you'll ever need anything more course until/unless you damage the edge.
