This is the newer black one with s30v
the original red firefighter one comes up for sale not infrequently but I have never seen this model for sale anywhere.

Was in really low in production?

I remember when it came out. Wondered if Never Summer had lost their collective minds, trying to sell this one for over $300 when they couldn't sell the original one for less than half of that. :eye-roll

I paid a little more than $200 for mine, not sure where the $300 price tag is coming from. The original Never Summer N5 is one of my most favorite Natives, and while the second one was pricey, I was very happy to get the sibling. The first one was the first PS LC200N Spyderco knife ever offered. Cheers, Radioactive

Very nice!

Said it before, it is really kind of a pity that the Native 5 in real use just does not work as good for me as other small Spydercos (Delica, Salt 2, Chap) do, since it probably is the coolest looking Spydie ever for me.

Aside from that I prefer SE or comboedge over PE, I´d put the blade of the black one in the red handle... just for me this would look even more amazing (probably cause I love mountains...and handles with some brighter color ;) )
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Both are very rare beasts these days. The original red LC200N run was only offered as 100 knives, and I’m not sure how many of the black S30V ones were produced. I tried using the original link for the all black one and got a 404 Not Found on the Never Summer website. It may be worth giving them a call or sending them an email to see if they have any remaining stock kicking around somewhere, although I’m guessing the chance of that might be slim. I do see the red one come up for sale occasionally on the BF Exchange and eBay (I’m not on FB, so no idea about your chances there but probably similar) - maybe one to two per year show up. Good luck to those trying to track either down, no proper N5 collection is complete without them. Cheers, Radioactive
