Top of the mornin', Allen!
Based on your recommendation, I've just started I am a Soldier Too by Rick Bragg. I don't believe I will review it here though.....
Finishing up Boston Teran's The Prince of Deadly Weapons.
On the technical and DIY side, I've got Thin Film Deposition Principles and Practice (job related) to put me to sleep and Bob Terzuoula's The Tactical Folding Knife to help the Cuban shots wake me up and put a smile on my mug.

I am reading a romanian SF book named "The Abbey". Quite cool, somehow reminds me of Dune (!!!).
One of the characters out there carries a sword made out of a liquid metal named "accun". It is carried in a sheath under the skin of the forearm and the metal becomes rigid under the influence of a low electromagnetical field (generated by the human body). There are only five such men that can master the accun blade in the whole galaxy, that's why they are known as "quints". They are the Emperor's personal bodyguards and their training takes about 30 years. When in combat mode, they move VERY fast. Faster than bullets and they can't even be seen with the bare eye. According to the Abbey Encyclopedia, it is estimated to take over six million regular fighters to kill a quint.
And this is only a small detail in the book(s) - it's a trilogy. The second volume is about to hit the market within a week or two.
