So after the discontinued model redo thread, a few of us put together a list to vote on. This is just to take the pulse on certain models mentioned and maybe give Spyderco a clear request. Obviously a poll is not much more than a pulse. We will need to beg, steal, or borrow our way to a Sprint. Persistence is key!

Cool idea. Maybe put a pic of each of them in the thread (or a link to the post in the original thread for each one)? I know a couple off hand, but I'm too lazy to do any research

Voted Ulize but will also be interested in a Worker (preferably if they also give it a real second edge on top of at least a bevel we can sharpen ourselves) maybe a Persian and Spyderhawk depending on the combo.

I'd like a Worker for the collection. I'd also consider the Air if it was a stainless steel.

I am hoping the Worker ends up being a 50th Anniversary Sprint surprise.

Bummer, no Terzuola Starmate, which I saw mentioned several times by members in that other previous thread.


I like my rerelease Worker, but I remember last time they redid them the sales were super slow... I think the Rookie would get lost in consumer confusion with model overlap lookalikes also.

If this is the final selection then I'll vote later, otherwise I'll wait for models to get potentially added.

The Air was not on my radar. I love the Centofante 4 and the Air looks like a mini, premium version.

A pocket clip and DLC would make it nearly my ideal knife

Where is the option for the full size Jess Horn? I’ve asked several times for a sprint run of the full size version that mimics the grey G10 Baby Horn sprint they did a few years ago. Also, didn’t Sal say that an updated Persian isn’t an option anymore?

Yeah the grey Baby Horn was a gem.

I thought I recall the Kris being what Sal said is now off the table... But I easily could have missed talk of the Persian as well...
Did they share the same Maker (makes sense they did but I'm not 100%). If so, then yes that may also be no longer an option as well.
Maybe some (start a different thread) future collaboration models from Mr. Schempp are what we should be asking for instead of un-discoing an old model?

Love the Ulize, but voted for the Spyderhawk.

If I wanted one back from the past, the JD Smith is one of my favorites. I had the green VG10 version but unfortunately lost it while in the woods.

Definitely start that thread! I seem to recall there being mention of possible new models by Mr. Schempp. Personally, I am excited to see those. We need to beat that drum too!


Also, Poll thread settings only allow for 10 options, so many had to be left out. Keep in mind, you can write in any option by replying to the thread. You never know, you could have more write ins for a single model than voting results.

Voted Air. I missed out on these and would love to see them run again. Regardless of materials.

Also missing the Starmate in the poll, especially the newer tip-up version with some interesting steel and scales
