Is this the authentic Spyderco Civilian ATS-55 ?

#1

Post by mobiletomek »

Hi!,
I bought Spyderco Civilian ATS-55 on the Polish website OLX
The seller said he was selling the knife from his uncle who bought it in Germany in 2001. The knife has been sitting in a drawer unused for over 20 years. Now the family is selling his things and they are 100% convinced that the knife is the original. ;)

I will be eternally grateful if someone could help me verify the authenticity of this knife.

I'm sorry for splitting it into 3 posts, but when I tried to put all the photos into one, I received an Anti-Spam message.

thank you in advance for your help!

First off...do not use it!

It's collectors value will be high.

I owned one and it looks the same.

The Phillips screws look strange compared to todays Spydies. but I do believe that yours is genuine...

Experts will chime in, i am sure!

It is undoubtedly a legal civilian ATS-55, you don't have to worry about it anymore. It's a nice piece of Spydercos history.

I was wondering where my post went until I found it on Bladeforums.

Yep, mobiletomek asked on both forums … sometimes it‘s not easy to be helpful.
