I recall this being discussed already in the past on the forum. There is no composition disclosed, it's a proprietary steel and the only test results come from the maker and are contradictory to market consensus (eg M4 being tougher than both the A2 and O1).

CPM-M4 has similar toughness to A2 and both are tougher than O1. There is no independent testing done on this, but someone shot a piece of it with one of those alloy analyzer guns and even though the gun incorrectly named it cronidur 3 the composition and marketing material made some speculate it was something like XHP. Of course all of it is speculation.

I suppose one could buy a plane blade to test and send to a metallurgical lab for full spectral analysis:

Picking an unknown steel because of a sales brochure that releases no real information? Sure, I'm in. Maybe. errrr, maybe not. Who knows? Maybe if I knew what it is . The way things stand it can be anything they say it is and change it from batch to batch. Other companies have done that too.

I'm with Joe (Mastiff). Need more information before I'm going to invest.
