Said to see the C101PGY2 - MANIX 2 GRAY LIGHTWEIGHT MAXAMET PLAINEDGE to be going. Since these are being discontinued is there usually a price increase or deals to be had?

That's really not too bad of a list compared to most years. I suppose that's a good thing?? Or does that mean less opportunities at new models in the future?

Interesting that the Manix Maxamet is the one singular Maxamet model that goes away - I thought it was the perfect platform for it. Tall grind made it a slicey work horse

Sad for the Leaf Jumpers. Curious why those never caught on above the other Seki models. Maybe too big of a hump or maybe the lack of jimping? Or is it just the existing Seki models are so established and not enough new interest in them for new models?

The last bunch of discontinued knives were substantially discounted at the end. Might be some good purchasing opportunities in the near future.

this is one i wanted to get and just never could justify. looks like a great knife, but i ended up not needing a smaller blade than the manix at work, so i just stuck with the manix.

Sub-hilt was always kind of on the want list but not enough to actually buy one. With the price the way it is now I don't think I'd get one even with a large discontinued discount

Kind of surprised about the Leaf Jumper. I was going through one of my knife boxes earlier looking for a particular PM2 I wanted to carry and I came across the Leaf Jumper I bought awhile back. I guess I should carry it at some point haha

It was super exciting for me when they said they'd be doing a no choil model for those of us who like the blade going right up to the handle. A big part of that preference though is better blade to handle ratio, and the design has a worse ratio than your regular Delica. It just missed one of the main points for why that type of design is desirable. Throw on top the meh QC and quality out of Japan and the ridiculous prices (at MAP), and it went from exciting to easy pass.

Sad for the Vallotton and the Lil Native Mid Backlock, but I have them both already. Also already have the Leaf Jumper and the Emphasis & Insistant.

When I saw the thread I braced for carnage, so this list was a relief.

I'm surprised the Stovepipe isn't on the list. I love mine, but I know lots of folks abhor the design.

Wow! Pretty surprised at the Leaf Jumper and the backlock Lil Native. Are these the shortest production runs Spyderco has ever done until discontinuation, or were there other models that had a shorter lifespan?

Kinda sad for the Leaf jumper, I think it was only out for a couple of years?

On second thought, I think discontinuing the backlock LN may have something to do with the LW version coming out. I left my backlock at home on the other side of the world; probably a good idea to buy one or a few when the online seconds sale or black friday sales come around (if it ever happens again).
