New PD#1 Sprint runs....not selling?
New PD#1 Sprint runs....not selling?
Hi everyone. When the first PD#1 Endelas and Enduras dropped I first saw them on Spyderco's website so to make sure i wasn't going to miss getting one of these sprint run knives, due to the smaller number being produced in each model, I jumped on it right then and there. That was weeks ago and I am curious if the forum has any idea why these knives are ALL still available everywhere. Is it that people are waiting on their specific model? Do folks not like the steel or colorway? Why do you think these knives are not selling faster since they are sprint runs, or is this the norm and i really don't know what I am saying. I appreciate your input

It sounds as if you're upset that Spyderco made enough knives to meet the immediate customer demand. With previous sprint runs, people were typically bent out of shape because Spyderco didn't make enough knives to meet the immediate demand.
This reminds me of the old man, the boy, and the donkey.

No rusty iron you are completely wrong and it seems your more interested in being rude instead of having a conversation about knives that are not selling for some reason. I love Spyderco and most of their products and I purchased my sprint run knife immediately so i wouldn't miss out because that is the nature of a sprint run, very limited supply for a special release. Many people that want one don't end up getting one because it is a sprint run. It has happened to me in the past as im sure its happened to others and will continue to happen because they are made in small batches.
It is a legit question to ask the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic people in the Spyderco realm if they feel the knives are not selling and if so why because I really thought they would move fast and im surprised that they haven't. Or does the community feel all sprint runs last this long after release?
Im not sure this is the correct place to belittle someone because they have a question that you might not understand. If you dont have some kind of constructive response to the question why not just be a grown up and move along.

Since the sprint run is spread across multiple Seki models, people may be waiting for the model that they like before they buy. Also, if you recall, the PD#1 Mule team model took a long time to sell out, possibly because people were not familiar with the steel.
In any case, I consider it a good thing that these PD#1 models are sticking around, as I never liked the stress associated with chasing previous sprints.

This Sprint is unique having so many models to choose from and Forum members do have favorites . I personally have no intention purchasing every model , bought an Endura mainly become I did not have the model for quite some time . I like this Sprint and steel no regrets from me . MG2
MNOSD 0002 / Do more than is required of you . Patton

First of all, this subforum is for discussing fakes and counterfeits. Second of all, you did ask for input. Third, do you have sales figures from "everywhere" to indicate these are selling slowly rather than Spyderco making more of them than they have previously (slow sales as opposed to larger supply)?Rayaluk71 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 8:38 pmNo rusty iron you are completely wrong and it seems your more interested in being rude instead of having a conversation about knives that are not selling for some reason. Yes, you'll probably dismiss this as mere rudeness as well, and you may be right. It still needed to be said.

Well, it wouldn't have been the first time I've been wrong. And I've surely been called much worse things than "rude." Maybe I am rude. If we were having a popularity contest, surely you would win. However, I'm a firm believer in telling the truth. If someone is makes wild, unsubstantiated claims, I might not sit idly by and let their fallacies go unchallenged.
There is photographic proof that you are mistaken about the knives "not selling." We have all seen pictures of the knives that people have already received, so it is you who is wrong.
Perhaps you misspoke, and meant to say that the knives are not "selling briskly." That might be the case. I don't know. Do you have the sales data for these knives? Do you have the production data for these knives? Do you have the sales data for previous Sprint runs that we can use for comparison? Please provide us with this information, for without it, all of your statements are just unsubstantiated prattle.

Maybe not as many people are interested in this sprint run as you were expecting.

Well I’m excited for this sprint, although it is pretty much Cruwear right? But not as excited as I am to read some more back and forth between you guys
