Flying to the UK on military orders.

I was just curious if anyone has flown from the US to the UK with a pm2, or any sort of locking blade. I've been told having knives in your checked luggage usually isn't a hassle.

Don't concider this legal advice, I don't even live in the UK.
It's not illegal to own locking folders over there, just illegal to carry them in public without a (very) convincing and good reason. The logical extension of that is in my opinion that it would be legal to bring it in your checked luggage and further on to your place of residence while in the UK (still in your luggage of course).
In the past I've travelled many times to the UK with locking folders (usually in the form of Leathermans) and I've never had any serious issues. Though I have on occasions been "persuaded" to lock them up in a storage locker prior to entering job sites

UK knife law allows you to carry non-locking pocket knives with a blade length up to 3 inches (7.62 cm) without any need for a valid reason.
NON LOCKING BLADES UNDER 3 INCHES !!

And that is also why Spyderco sells UK Penknives with no locks called "slipits". Blade length 2.98 inches.
And it's not worth carrying or taking anything that doesn't meet those low standards.

Get yourself a UKPK non locking folder and be done with it. I really like the UKPK. It's a dandy with a Para 3's cutting edge. Also just about impossible to accidentally close on your fingers. A really well thought out design, but not as rugged as the PM2 or PM3, though I'm willing to bet that it gets the job done! There is a reason it is so beloved in Europe. (and here)

Just don't do it. There is not state of war or anything else. Wokeness has had a long life there (though now there is blowback). Get a UKPK and be safe and happy.
