Dragonfly2 LC200N?

#1

Post by Doc Dan »

Hey @sal

Will we see a Dragonfly 2 in LC200N? I had to give my wife my Dragonfly Salt with PE H1 because she keeps running her knives through the washing machine! However, she does use the knife and it would be nice to have more edge retention. Just wondering.

I would buy this. Bonus points for wharncliffe but the normal PE leaf blade would be amazing.

Yeah, people seem to want it. I like the green, but I think my wife might like black or some neutral color to match her purses.

If Spyderco were to ever dip their toes into the Vanax pond, a FFG wharncliffe DF2 would be a good place to start.
I'm perfectly happy with LC200N in other knives, but my k390 DF2 has really made me appreciate good edge retention in smaller knives. Not saying a version in LC200N wouldn't be tempting, but I'm not sure it offers enough over my other DF2s to sway me.
S110V would be interesting as well. Haven't tried it, but there seems to be enough of both edge retention and corrosion resistance to fit the bill.

Yes, please do the Wharncliffe Dragonfly in LC200N! I'd buy two!

(The same would be true for MagnaCut, SPY27, S45VN, or even Elmax. Seriously, the Wharncliffe Dragonfly needs more stainless options!)

The other Salt knives come in LC200N and this only makes sense, unless Spyderco is going to surprise us with Magnacut.

I got the H2 Dragonfly in serrated instead of plain edge for the supposed increase in edge retention, but yeah, an LC200N Dragonfly would be very enticing.

I personally want the green LC200N configuration. Other steels are great but won’t come with that great green FRN.

I would love an LC200N Dragonfly!

The S110v idea is a good one. I didn’t realize I wanted one until you suggested it!

Magnacut would be great also. Really any salty or super-stainless options. 😁

Magnacut would also be great. I'm looking for corrosion resistance + edge retention. The knife needs to stand up to being washed in the washing machine, numerous times.

Lc200n, I would be interested in one.

S90v, s110v, 20cv again as I missed that one, would all be something I would like to try. Magnacut, too.

I really like the chaparral, but found over the last year or so, that I tend to carry the dragonfly more.

Years ago, before magnacut existed, when the “lc200n everything” was popular I remember we were told “ all salts are getting the lc200n treatment”…

Yes, but that didn't happen. The Dragonfly, Manbug, and Ladybug Salts didn't get the upgrade.

I agree. I was just wondering why no neon green dragonflies.
