Filter all water and do not buy water in plastic!

For years we have filtered water first through a Brita(with blue extra long duration filter) followed by filtering that water in a Zero Water large pitcher. Do not buy water in plastic water bottles. Try to avoid plastics!

I posted one research paper above about microplastics being found in clogged arteries, but there is an earlier research paper regarding finding microplastics in blood samples.

I saw that. You know, that means that the stuff clogging up arteries is not simply cholesterol and statins will do little good. The question is, how to remove the plastic?

Also, I remember seeing a study somewhere that being overweight is often tied to plastic from bottles, bags, etc. that we ingest over the years. That explains why people do all of the right things and can't lose weight.

I take statins, 80mg of Lipitor a day! I even had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve and received a 3-way bypass. There were many days I did not think I was going to make it and then when I walked back in the house after the operation I knew I had won The Lottery!

You are correct, statins will not dissolve the plastics in our arteries. And, I probably could not take anything to get rid of plastics in my arteries, because I have a prophylactic tissue valve in my chest, and I just do not know. Is there any plastic involved in that replacement valve?

:worried

And you statement about not being able to lose weight is probably 100% correct too. We are consuming thousands of pieces of microplastics daily. I saw a paper a few weeks ago about the amount of microplastics in a plastic water bottle and it was unbelievable.

Hi, micro plastics may well be a problem, for us health wise.
They have been found present in Ocean fish here in New Zealand...

Even more scary is the possibility of ingesting plastics from air.
Think about all the plastic bottles, bags and toys that are discarded as just road trash, let alone in trash dumps (which are usually capped).

Plastic is a fantastic product only approximately 100 years available, but certainly is a pollution issue.

The other becoming more common is Silicone.
Iodine seems to be the only thing to break it down...
Heat, alcohol, and abrasion resistant.

Don't know the answer, other than to reduce it's use and dispose of wisely.
We had some Americans open a Pizza shop in neighborhood 25 years ago.
They used to wash out their plastic bags and reuse them.
Thought they were nuts at the time, not any more !

They made us get rid of paper bags and go to plastic. Now they want to get rid of the plastic and charge us for paper.

I don't know why paper companies don't make grocery and garbage bags out of bamboo. Bamboo makes very strong paper (and soft blankets and towels). It is quickly renewable with some species growing three or more feet per day!

I'd much rather use glass over anything plastic. Paper over anything plastic. Bamboo is a good product and it grows fast.

We just stopped buying milk in plastic and we have it delivered in glass now.

Stop buying anything in plastic. Look for glass containers or butcher wrapping paper for fish and meat products!!!!
