Memory Lane...

Does anyone here remember those excellent Time Life Old West Series Books?
I remember daddy ordering the GunFighter's edition in 1981 I think. Man, we absolutely wore that book out! (us kids mainly!) Time Life did an outstanding job on these! But, I hadnt seen this book since the late 80's! So, it was a real delight to have seen someone post about on FB a while back.
And, that got me to wondering if it even possible to get another from someone or somewhere. I didn't have any idea that they could actually still be bought in new condition! That is until I looked and lo and behold, I bought one brand new from Amazon - at the time I was a little skeptical but, truth be told, I was just hoping it would be in good condition- heck, as long as I got the real deal would be fine!

Well, it finally arrived and, it was sealed in plastic and absolutely brand new! Goodness, this was such a treat! Brought back so many memories from my childhood as well. That book help pass a many incredibly boring snow days in winter time!
But, like I said, Time Life just did such a good job with the GunFighter's Edition! They have everyone and and anyone who was ever anything back in the wild west! John Wesley Hardin, Billy The Kid, Jesse James, The Apache Kid, Ned Christie, Wild Bill Hickok, Doc Holliday, The Earp Bros! The list just goes on and on and on!
At any rate, here's just a couple of the pages from the book. These pics are from the Chapter entitled frontie Justice Vigilante style! And, also a pic of Wyatt Earp. Hope yall enjoy this. I'll add some more pics - and if you have a request for a pic of an old Outlaw or Lawman, just lemme know & I'll post it up. Btw, I went ahead and bought another for a back up. At $23 it was a STEAL. If anyone is interested in buying one, they can be had from Ammazon.

Yes, indeed. I was in my teens when that series was released, and I bought them all. There were about fifteen, total. They're currently on a bookshelf downstairs. On the same shelf is another Time Life series on various Earth sciences. It is equally well done.

At one time I thought I'd give them away to one of the youngsters, but it seems Tik Tok and X-Box have replaced books and reading.

You drive a hard bargain, sir.
PM me with your mailing address, and I'll get them boxed up and dropped off at the Pony Express Office. I'll let you know what the shipping comes to, and you can Apple Pay me that amount. It might take me a week or two to get everything sent.

Dad had those. All of this makes me sentimental, and happy at the same time.

Dan, Time Life did an extraordinary job on the history of the GunFighters & all the other books of the Old West, I'm sure.

I enjoyed the life story of John Wesley Hardin , definitely a bad dude . Amazing how many gunfighters were put to rest from being shot from behind . Dan
