Four!!!! Hole in 1, 4Max? Ti Max?

Thinking about running the four max elite with titanium liners and hardware without the scales and adding a hole where the thumb stud is. What do you think? Here is a mock up.

I like the stainless, but there is always the option of using 3M grip tape for one side. I'm thinking about buying some for my knives.

Right on.
If Fireman has laser or EDM capabilities, it might be pretty easy.
The best I could do would be a carbide fly cutter with a lot of coolant, and my expectation would be an ugly hole and damaged tools.

I used diamond bits in my Makita to do this hole in the Mayhem. I modded it quite a bit.

In a Makita hand drill?

And what kind of diamond bit, may I ask?

From where I sit, that looks like a clean, round hole.
Nice work!

Well I'm gobsmacked! I did not know you could do that kind of work on hard steel with a hand drill!

Took about an hour

Look at this for tips but I did fine with a hand drill.

Dude in the video uses a carbide bit to roughly enlarge the hole. I assume diamond bit works as well, maybe better?

I haven’t used carbide, but diamond seems to work. OK just takes a while and dirty. I also used diamond files

Well she is about 95% the way there. She is a butter knife right now (Butter face😂) Had to alter and or shorten all the hardware to make it work but it now carries like a dream and you don’t feel like you are carrying such a huge knife. I will probably do some satin finish and or some flame design since the scales are Titanium. Voila! Kind of industrial minimalist.

The guard was getting in the way little bit so I took some off. I’m just leaving the liners without scales. Opening ark is great

I had a feeling that would be the case. I'd love to mod some of my CS folders with opening holes. The studs work but they're not nearly as good as the spyder hole.
