Less grinding.
Perhaps a CPM mule mold?

Doesn't the HIC Mule and C109 "S" use a process similar to this?

This is a press-and-sinter process. One question I would ask is, what advantage would manufacturing knives this way offer over the current manufacturing processes? (Not saying there aren’t any) It’s definitely interesting but I question its practicality for knife making.

The HIC Mule is a proprietary ceramic injection molding process developed by Harcane Industries. It probably uses a ceramic powder but it’s still being injection molded. The “S” used a Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process. Powdered metal and sintering are both also parts of the MIM process but it’s done in a different way than the press-and-sinter process.

The molds for stuff like this are expensive and they wear out. You can get a lot of belts for the same $$$$.
